(bottled@töölö) dark red colour. smoke on nose. tastes like bad smoked syrup. yah. worse.

750 ml, 2007 vintage. Deep garnet with a lasting quarter-inch of foam. Aroma of smoky bubblegum and wheat grain. Flavors of earthy hickory-smoked molasses, gummy wheat, orange, prune and berry. Medium-heavy body is tongue-tingly, a little too fizzy and slightly dry. Nice frosty lacing.

<b>The look: </b>Cloudy golden copper body topped by a medium beige head
<b>In long: </b>Nice nose of smoked ham, bacon and campfire. Taste is more of the same. This is mainly about smoky flavours but this on also has quite a bit a fruity flavours and cookie malts. A light fudge presence. A little fluffy. This might not have the smoked intensity of a *DANY* but this one is richer is taste and in body. Overall this is one of the best smoked lager I’ve ever had. I had it at a tasting session and it was good and then a month later I drank a full bottle and it just wasn’t enough. Really a kick-ass smoky beer. Smoked and fruity, just like my almost-senile grandpa when he mistakenly smoked one of my “cigarettes”.

Bottle. 2007. Cloudy amber as I got the last half of the bottle from Butters. Smoke and barbecue nose. Great taste to me of smoke, apple, and pig. Long smoky, sweet finish. I really enjoyed this one.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Clear (opaque with yeast), deep reddish brown with a medium, tanned and bubbly head. Smoky aroma combined with subtly aromatic American hops is very pleasant. Also hints of alcohol when swirled in glass. Smooth smoked ham flavor, slightly sweet with toffeeish maltiness and salty notes. Silky-smooth mouthfeel, medium to full body, medium-carbonated. Very clean and balanced, yet reasonably complex (for a smoked). One of the very best of its kind, only losing slightly to Schlenkerla Urbock. Slightly cooled seems the way to go with this one, too.

Tap at Barcade. Surprisingly smoky aroma, clean and hammy, a touch of campfire. Big hammy body, sweet without being a burden. Thick, powerful body. Very nice.

Tap at Barcade: Pours an amber with a slight haze and a white film of head. Has a salty aroma- some teriyaki jerky and mild dark caramel. The carbonation is slightly sticky- moves slowly along the palate. Starts off with a touch of alcohol- but give ways to some alderwood, peat, cocoa flakes and an overall mild rounded smoke presence. There’s some residual peat on the back with toasted qualities. A touch too much alcohol is detectable, and it could use more smoke, but it’s still solid.

Decently smokey and not going to kill you with the flavors or aromas. In the back ground is a fruity cherry kind of flavor. Pours pretty dark brown with a bit of a purple tinge to it. Sticky sweet on the finish.
