GreatLibations (1252), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours like an old copper penny w/ a tall lasting head and finally a full fluffy ring. Smoky aromas prevail like an August desert wind. Full nectar w/ superb carbonation. This is a malt bomb as expected w/ a defined sweetness. The mild smoky character lends some depth. I’m getting some jerky, alot of stonefruit like nectarines, and a little hickory. The finish lingers smoky and sweet like a good ham.

Appearance: Slight haze on amber with hint of pink ruby. Large light brown, creamy with light rocks head. Nose: Ahh. Medium smoky front with aromatic mineral and citric hop, beneath filling sweet malt. Candy raspberry behind. 8- Flavor/Palate : Medium frontal body with much fuller middle and oily finish. True heavy body of classic doppel bock smoked a la Bamberg. Beech wood pits. Fruity berry with metallic leafy hops just add extra American twist. Clean smooth warmth wrapping this marvelous creation. BOLTZ7555 (435), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 30, 2008 Poured a hazy reddish hue with a nice cream-colored head that receded into a small ring around the inside of the glass. Nose is mild smoke and pork, with a faint aroma of freshly baked buttermilk biscuits. Home cookin’ at it’s finest...barbequed ribs falling right off of the bone. Flavor would be a perfect pairing with smoked sausage, pork, or beef. A solid brew.
bager (2027), Copenhagen N, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Bottled. Slightly hazy and deep golden coloured with a medium sized head. Quite well balanced with notes of caramel, bread, citrus, hay and also has a hint of smoke. Very nice. glennmastrange (392), hobe sound, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of cereal, roasted and nutty, light herbs and earth for the hops and yeast, and very light notes of date, red wine, smoke and wood. Head is fizzy, white with no lacing and is fully diminishing. the first pour is clear burgandy, then clouds up a bit on the following pours. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a fizzy carbonation. A decent beer, it just didn’t have the depth of flavor and aroma I expected. DragonStout (1143), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 12, 2008 This poured a brownish color with a small tan head. The nose was smoky, malty, and bacony.Yum! This was close to having bacon beer in a glass.Lots of smoke up front with some malts and bacon, smokiness to finish it off.
