That is until now. This was like a big smoked pork sandwich in a glass. Really nice. puggy211 (589), cordova, Tennessee, USA

Would love to try this again with some ribs or bbq chicken. As good as it is the price is a little high. Really good! pilsnerrogge (1784), Finspång, Sweden

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 16, 2009 It poured nearly black from the big bottle into a snifter type glass, ample chocolate nougat looking head. It smelled lightly of chocolate, more caramel and some booze. I served maybe about at 46 degrees, kind of warm. I sat this for about 2 1/2 months, it must have really mellowed. The bitter smokiness contributes very highly to great bittler chocolate, mellow carbonation, and a little oily. I’m not getting any anticipated saltiness, which I had hoped to settle down with a little age. Delicious and potent. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA

Taste is coffee, bacon and chocolate. Not bad, but a bit smokey for my taste. Well made, just not my thing. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Brewed in the USA......... Pours black in color with a medium beige head. Aroma of smoke from a camp fire, bacon and burnt wood. The taste has a smoked meat flavor with some sweet malts and a hint of tobacco. This was a pleasant suprise for me, smooth with a mild bitterness at the finish. I could actually see myself drinking more then one of these. Nice job !! Marsiblursi (1646), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2009 (Bottle) Pours dark brown, near black with a big and creamy light brown head. Balanced aroma with medium smoked and near medium roasted/burned tones from the malt. Smoked meat, tar, ash, burned wood, liquorice, dark chocolate, nuts and light coffee. The nose is clean with some sharp vodka-like alcohol hints. Light hoppy notes of grass, resin, herbs and apricots. Some dry white pepper, vanilla, cocoa cola and dried figs hints. The flavour holds light to medium sweet caramel and nutty malt tones that blend perfectly with the near medium smoked notes. The alcohol is too present. Nice laidback hop profile of mild resin and grass. The mouthfeel is clean and medium round. Full medium crisp and creamy carbonation. Medium to full bodied. A massive rye bread and smoke ham sensation!
