Pours a heavy brown colored body, with a big tan head, that is diminishing. An aroma of cookies or milk chocolate? Some kind of spice like saffron or ginger or something. Some other sweet spices are present too, and some vanilla can be detected. Some dark malts. Spicy taste, that same sweet ginger or some kind of spice present, maybe nutmeg? Some roasted malts, coffee is present too. Hides the alcohol well, not hot or alcoholy tasting. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Very nice beer, very reminiscent of Christmas/Winter. jstraw (774), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Mahogany with good, creamy tan head / Nose of sweet, spiced malts / Medium to full body, sweet, malty, and moderately syrupy, with good, subtle hop balance and long finish / Flavors of spun sugar, malt, toast, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, orange zest, and ginger / A very successful spice beer, which does taste like a holiday spice cake. hapjydeuce (772), Del Mar, California, USA

I thought this would be a nice session ale of sorts, as denoted by the label description. I was left disappointed to say the least. Hazy brown pour, some light brown head too. Fruity aroma of ginger, clove and honey. Taste is less impressive, way too cloyingly sweet with the spices used. Dry finish. Ended up as a drainpour. Blechh. Hangover (770), Atlanta, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2006 Brown pour with a thin, yet creamy tan head. Spice, brown sugar, roasted malt and ginger are in the strong aroma. Moderate carbonation and the spice really comes out in the flavor, along with some vanilla, nutmeg and alcohol. Towards the end of the bomber, this beer really strikes me as flavorful, but thin. It’s pretty good. RollinHard (761), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 14, 2006 Pours a fairly clear reddish brown, with a nice sized, dissipating head. Aroma is....strange! A bit gingerbread, nutmeg, maybe some cinnamon, but it all comes together fairly strange. Taste is fairly sugary sweet, with some more gingerbread flavors, and a nutmeg dryness. Finishs with a roasty toasty flavors. A bit cloying after not sipping for a while. This beer should be good, but its flavors just kinda fall apart everywhere. Also, I don’t really like nutmeg much. At least the texture and body was quite good. corby112 (756), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a very dark amber with a medium creamy light tan head that diminshes quickly leaving behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a dark fruit malt with raisin and spice. Medium mouthfeel with a spicy roasted malt taste with cinnamon and molasses. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink, a good spice brew from Left Hand. Fratto (740), Arlington, Texas, USA
