Sweetish, spicy nose of cardamom and dried fruits with some alcohol presence. Quite full-bodied with sweetish caramel and a distinct spiciness - Speculaas-style. The finish is dry. 191207 blklab2007 (975), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 23, 2008 22 oz. bottle poured a deep dark brown color with a thick heavy light tan head that kept a nice thin layer. aroma has cinnamon, nutmeg, faint ginger, and lightly sweet honey. mouth feel is a little light and light with low carbonation. the malt in the flavor is mild and there is plenty of spices including cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and mild ginger that i would not have recognized had it not been in the description. I am not sure if the body or the honey is throwing me off but this is hard to get into. charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Dark brown beer with tan head. Has an interesting aroma. The description doesn’t list wood aging as part of the brewing practice, but I detect some leather and cherry-stone aroma suggesting Brettanomyces. Has a sweet taste with caramel and spicy notes. Although I knew which spices are added, I could not pick them out. Well done. danielcurtis81 (909), San Diego, California, USA

On tap at HopCat. This brew has aromas and flavors that start with a good cinnamon tone on top of roasted malts with notes of candy sugar as well.

Looks exactly like extremely strong tea when poured. Not much of a head to this.
Smells like a big pumpkin pie that’s been laced with alcohol.
Very sweet taste to this beer, as expected. Almost too sweet tasting. I can definitely taste the honey and spices in this but I’m not sure in a good way.
I’m not sure how much of this I could drink. I finished this one but I don’t know if I would drink a second. It’s not a bad beer or anything, but it’s just a bit sweet for my tastes. Swalden28 (1515), McKinney, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Bottle from S&K Beverage in Plano, TX. Pours a clear deep brown-red with beige head. Aroma of ginger, cinnamon, malt, and fruit. Flavor has malt, is sweet, alcohol, fruit, ginger, cinnamon, clove, exactly what they say. Palate is medium-heavy body with med-high carbonation. Over all, the flavors where WAY too present, in my opinion, a little over done. I liked it and hated it.....But I wouldn’t mind having it again.....in a weird way, almost reminded me of eggnog. This was kinda tricky to rate, but it was like a good winter warmer dessert beer. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 28, 2009 Here comes the 300th rating for this beer! Bomber split with Barrios. Pours a very dark brown with brilliant clarity and chestnut highlights and a fair very light tan head. Massive nutmeg is the overwhelming aroma note. More complexities come out in flavor. Anise, cinnamon, ginger is predominant, nutmeg, clove. Medium body with medium carbonation. I totally agree with nqualls assessment that this is like a pumkin beer without the pumpkin. Nice change of pace.
