Can’t help but think of various pumpkin ales that I’ve had over the years. Cinnamon just isn’t a beer smell, but it smells, well, holiday-ish. Dark clear brew, fair bomber and label, chainmail lacing head. Really pretty smooth - the spices aren’t raw or too bitter. Fairly sweet, but not overly so. Not very bitter. A bit grassy and herbal on the backend, with golden raisins in the mix someplace. Medium to slightly heavy body. This would make a really good pork marinade - just add some garlic and citrus. Holiday aroma with lots of nutmeg, clove, gingerbread and toasted malts. Malty-sweet flavor with perfumey spices. Delicately bittered. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Spicy, lightly bitter, mostly sweet finish. oh6gdx (9102), Vasa, Finland

Flavour is kind of strange fruity, with hints of olives. Might the the clove combines with something else which makes the strange mix. Long spicy aftertaste. Christmassy indeed. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 5, 2007 I thought this beer was decent, but not outstanding. While it has a significant amount of alcohol, I thought the alcohol’s presence in the flavor was a bit overstated. Nontheless, I thought it to be pretty good.
This beer poured a brilliant copper color with plentiful amounts of fairly sticky head. It had a very pumpkin-beer-like aroma with lots of nutmeg smell, although it also had a chlorophenol odor of metallic tapwater. Flavor was very much like a number of pumpkin beers I’ve had, but with some bourbon notes and a very pronounced alcohol presence which may have resulted from not a lot of malt character to conceal the alcohol esters. Mouthfeel was dry in nature, but not remarkable.
Not bad; I’d recommend it. The pronounced alcohol flavor made me feel like it was winter outside. Having it be 20 degrees and snowing outside when I was drinking it helped too. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA

Pours a pure garnet with pathetic attempt at a head, left almost entirely without carbonation. Mild toffee, spruce almond nose; nothing leaping out. nutty brown sugar flavor citrus zest, prickly wooden hop finish. Ginger astringency. tastes like a watered down barleywine.
