Commercial Description:
In honor of the mighty St. Vrain River that lies due west of the brewery, we've named our latest release in our limited edition "Big Mo" series St. Vrain Tripel. The St. Vrain River originates in Rocky Mountain National Park, and flows through Longmont on its way east. Named after Ceran St. Vrain, an early settler of the valley who helped establish the first permanent trading post by white men in what is now Colorado. A reflection of this pioneering spirit can also be found in the ales of Belgium, where brewers, often monks, developed beers of distinctive character over the past 900 years. Simply admiring our hazy golden Belgian-style Tripel in your wide-rimmed glass doesn't even begin to reveal its complexity. The spicy aroma that streams upward with hints of wild flower honey and orange blossom is your first clue of the depth of St. Vrain Tripel. The sweetness from the malt makes itself known immediately, progressing to bittersweet honey and dried fruit flavors, and finishing out with the lingering earthiness from the Styrian Golding hops. The warming effect of the 9% ABV is your final indication that the initial simplicity masks St. Vrain's beautiful intricacy.

Pricey Corked and Caged 750ml bought at the Whole Foods in Vienna Virginia and trecked back to CA with me. Shared with my girlfriend Cyn. Pours golden yellow iwth a 2 finger bright white head. Cyn noticed some sediment in her glass, less in mine. Nose is sweet and yeasty with a big of Citrus. Taste is sweet and full of citrus and some what sharp if you ask me. Decent beer, Tripels seem to be either done spot on awesome or they are mediocore, this is above mediocore but doesn’t shine all the way.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of citrus and hints of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, citrus, and peaches, as well as light notes of milk, leading to a dry fruity finish.

Not realy digging this one too much. Pours a straw-orange color. Lots of dark floaties (?!?) and a thing white head. Aroma is lots of subtle spice.. Flavor picks up from there. Lots of booze, which hurts. A mix of honey and citrus fruits, with a grassy backbone. Notes of bread and malt with an earthy undertone. An OK brew, but not worth the hefty price, especially when there are other and better examples of the style.

750 mL bottle purchased at Coconuts in Evergreen, CO. Pours clear and sparkling dark yellow with an average, frothy, white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), average hops (flowers, perfume, grass), average yeast (horse blanket, barnyard) with notes of alcohol, banana, pineapple, and pepper. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity, and moderate bitterness.

750ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden color. The head was tall, bubbly, and white with decent retention. Not much lace. The aroma was of yeasty bread dough, cereal grain, light honey, and spices (clove, white pepper). Effervescent and fruity; almost champaign-ish. Semi-sweet. Understated flavors including cereal grain, apple, alcohol, and apricot. Nice beer.

Cloudy beige with a low, fluffy head. Dusty nose, with a slight jasmine accent. Quite sweet, though with some alcohol and hop dryness. Light florals and some background yeast add character. There’s a slight warmth in the finish. Sweet, but interesting.
