| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 8, 2009 We get Left Hand and Terrapin beers in Miami but couldn’t get this one...go figure. Hazy chestnut colour. Low carbonation and little if any head. Some chocolate and nuts. Lots of sweetness. Big, fairly soft body. Brown sugary sweetness. Chocolatey, a little crackery and dry. Rye is evident in the mouthfeel. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Pours a very dark brown with almost no head. Some roasted malt and rye bread in the aroma. Touch of piney hops with a good dose of bitter rye and coffee. Fairly simple but tasty. hbchrist (11), North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Pours dark, dark ruby, nearly opaque. The smell is hard to describe, but it is *appealing*. The taste hit me the wrong way. The first taste reminds me of a strong, slight yeasty IPA, but it quickly dissolves into a traditional tasting (to me) stout. As it fades, it left a sour flavor that reminded me of vomit. I will try another bottle just to be sure, and if the next round is better, I will edit my review.
