Commercial Description:
Midnight Project One - Sometime at midnight in a city nobody can agree on, the idea for Left hand and Terrapin to brew a collaboration beer together was born. Terra-rye’zd is the first of a series of one-time releases between the two breweries. It is a beguiling black rye lager that will hold you hostage with its complex flavor, and make you want to ransom off your neighbors’ children for another bottle. The spice derived from the judicious amount of rye malt will bombard your pallet

22 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep brown to light orange glare, holds a small brown head. Breadish, roasted, liqourish and mild chocolate flavoured. Smooth malty and yet with a nice hoppy bite. Dry bitter and roasted malty finish. Smooth and filling finish. Nice one.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, nuts, and malt as well as light notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, nuts, toffee, bread, and brown sugar, as well as a bit of alcohol, leading to a dry bready finish. The mouthfeel is quite carbonated.

22 oz. bottle. Deep, ruby black pour with a slowly developing, creamy, tawny head that has excellent durability and a sticky, reticulated lace, a truly beautiful beer. Aroma of roasted nuts, faint burnt sugar, pine, and spice. Medium body and carbonation, smooth and dry palate. A big dose of hoppy bitterness washes over the malty sweetness that hits first. The finish is long and bitter, and quite satisfying. I really liked this.

22oz bottle acquired in trade. Poured a dark and deep orange color (almost brown) with a large sized, 5 finger, off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, caramel, grains, and rye. Tastes of rye, lighter chocolate, toasty, caramel, and grainy. Some lacing left on the glass.

Bottle. Pours black with an average, frothy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (toasted grain, meal, cereal), average hops (grass, herbs), average yeast (earth, leather, sweat) with notes of charcoal, wood, and prunes. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

This was alot darker than i thought it would be. The aroma and body werent huge though and didnt match the body. It had some weird aroma to it idk, it wasnt rye bready, but it was more fermented raison bready. The body was much the same. The label however, is cooler than the beer.

Black pour with an inch-thick tan head. Grainy malt nose. Shary, tangy rye flavor with roasted malt present. Sweet, woodsy, grainy with a bitter finish. Full bodied and good.
