Commercial Description:
Midnight Project One - Sometime at midnight in a city nobody can agree on, the idea for Left hand and Terrapin to brew a collaboration beer together was born. Terra-rye’zd is the first of a series of one-time releases between the two breweries. It is a beguiling black rye lager that will hold you hostage with its complex flavor, and make you want to ransom off your neighbors’ children for another bottle. The spice derived from the judicious amount of rye malt will bombard your pallet

Dark hard aroma of roasted malt and almost coffee. Deep brown pour with hints of red. Burnt malt flavor and a semi sweet to a hard bitter finish. Full bodied smooth carbonation. A solid beer.

Flavor: big roasted malt flavor, touch of coffee from the roasted, lots of earthy character leaving behind bitterness, growing hint of caramel sweetness adds some balance to the roasted and earthyness, eventually the caramel sweetness grows until it takes over and provides perfect balance to the roasted

This poured a dark brown color with a beige head. The aroma contains some rye along with some chocolate and marshmellows. The flavor contains rye, chocolate, caramel, and oddly more marshmellows. The finish is a mixture of sourness but more sweet than anything. Overall an different and pretty good beer.

Bottle… Clear, very dark lager with ruby highlights and little to no head. The aroma puts forward chocolate, toasted cashews and a gentle dusting of espresso. Medium-bodied and creamy/silky with lively carbonation. Well-balanced chocolate and rye flavor. Finishes lightly bitter with rye dryness.
