This is quite an amazing IPA with super strong flavors, of pine hops. heavy malts and a nice alcoholic presence. the carbonation is quite solid and great to have.

Bottle from dakine. Light golden in color, decent head. Aroma was hoppy but just average. Taste was too sugary for me... It still had a good bitterness to it but the sugary aftertaste took the enjoyment away. Not that great of a DIPA... Thanks dakine for sharing!

Courtesy of Tony @ OTH. Pours golden, white head. Aroma is fruity, caramel malts.Taste hoppy, definitely has a good kick of hops making this one a good Double IPA. Overall, beer is sweet, malty (caramel), floral with some pine hops. Nice floral hoppy finish.

Bomber from Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Honey amber color with a multi-finger frothy head that seems to stick around. Aroma of smooth, fruity hop over a little roasted caramel. Very smooth and medium plus body with creamy/frothy carbonation. The hop is smooth, strong and fruity/citrus/resin. There’s a decent malt backbone to support it. It finishes somewhere between astringent and bitter. Label is a bit damaged; can’t find a date; bet it’s fresh though.

2006 bottle. clear copper pour. rich malty, earthy hops. apricot aroma. rich, earthy, funk, light bitterness. This beer is disappointing. I tried it a couple years before and hoped it was a bad bottle. This has not improved too much with age.

labeled as a "Double IPA Ale". does that make this a double IPAA? cloudy amber color, medium off-wheat head, some lacing. floral hops, citrus hops in the nose. flavor of caramel, but not much citrus or floral hoppiness as indicated in the aroma. the 9.6% abv is well-hidden (not always a good thing. who doesn’t appreciate an alcohol kick now and then?). oily, full mouth-feel. mildly bitter finish. you’ld think this one would be a slam dunk for me, but there is something missing here. perhaps i was hoping more for a hop-bomb, full of citrus, pine, etc, and this one is a bit too mild. i guess if i am in a hurry to get drunk, this may be the one.

22oz bottle. Pours a hazy (slightly suprising) orangish color. Nose is piney hops (not resiny) no real discernable fruits but I do get a bit of apricot and some wierd nutmeg like spice. Taste is a bit of a letdown. Its flagrantly bitter as a double IPA should be but there is little citrus to it. its just harsh and biting. This lacks sophistication. Its not bad but it could have been much better. Seems like they used the wrong kinds of hops in this one. Its lacking any distinguishing body.

Aroma is a citric hop scent with an almost nutmeg like tone in the back. Color is a hazy bronze with good carbonation and a thick tight head. Taste is hoppy and smooth. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth and rich. Finish jumps out hoppy with an even mix of citrus and floral hop flavor this is followed by a nice maltiness that seems to have a hint of fruit then a bold bitter bite. After taste is more bitterness and a lingering citrus. This is an excellent Double IPA, its got bold hop flavor with out assaulting you with too much citrus.
