Big sweet malt backbone that scared me initially with the rye but it was done in a present yet non-assertive manner that gave it that crispness that played in well to the big resiny hop character. back to the malt, very sticky caramel sweetness with a solid roasted component. The hops what one would expect, big sappy pine with plenty of grapefruit and lingering resin notes. Floral yet pungent. Well built drink. daknole (2942), Plantation, Florida, USA

Aroma is malty, sticky and hoppy as well. Flavor is very hoppy. Some bitterness is there and some malts are present. I didnt get the overwhelming ntoes of dish soap that some have. I liked this and thought it was pretty well done. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2008 Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a lightly hazy, glowing, tangerine-amber color. A small, foamy, off-white head is quickly fleeting, leaving just traces of sudsy lace to slowly recede back into the surface. The aroma is massively hoppy and juicy, orange and grapefruit leading the charge. Pine plays a big role as well, but an underlying soapy note disappoints a bit. Flavors are equally juicy, with copious amounts of citrus hops dominating the toffee malt base. Again, sterile, soapy notes interfere with what would otherwise be a damn fine IIPA. The mouthfeel is substantial, lightly carbonated, and slightly astringent. This is decent overall, but not outstanding. kyzr (1123), Belgrade, Montana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2008 Pours copper with nice sized head. Good citrus nose. Flavor has nice hoppy hit with a chalky texture that really drys out the mouth. Good malt to back up the hops, and nice amount of alcohol that warms up the dry finish. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 25, 2008 Draft at Redlight. Starts with a huge hop aroma, kinda soapy, maybe a little sweaty, with just a kiss of citrus. Crisp and easy to drink with a nice hoppy kick. Meduim bitter finish. Malts are bready but understated. I’m shocked at the ABV. Hazy golden color, firm head.
