Draft at Redlight. Starts with a huge hop aroma, kinda soapy, maybe a little sweaty, with just a kiss of citrus. Crisp and easy to drink with a nice hoppy kick. Meduim bitter finish. Malts are bready but understated. I’m shocked at the ABV. Hazy golden color, firm head.

750mL bottle, 2006 vintage. Poured clear, fiery reddish-orange with a sticky, well-retained cap of off-white head.. nice lacing as it descended. The aroma picked up medium-skinned fruit and floral hoppage over syrupy honey and pale malts.. a hair soapy.. showed some age as the hops appeared muted, but it was still quite nice. The flavor had a slow foray with alcohol-fueled caramel sweetness building in intensity through the back.. spicy floral and citrus bitterness surrounded, but were again muted.. warmer at the finish, but this was so sweet that the overt alcohol tones were masked. Medium-plus bodied and grainy on the palate with some warmth and light bitterness.. tad sour at times, and a bit sharp on the finish. I’d like to try a fresh one.

Bomber . Pours a clear amber with a 2 finger white head and very nice lacing. Nose is sweet juicy fruit and caramel malt. Taste is ripe citrus, toffee and caramel with a mild grapefruit bitter finish and a strange earthy aftertaste. Medium, sticky mouth feel. Expected more hops. Average.

22oz. bottle, 2008. Aroma is full of citrus and pine, blended with a fruity background sweetness, along with hints of bubblegum and caramel. A bit of a Juicy Fruit effect. Sparklingly clear medium golden color, although this is supposedly bottle conditioned. Head is slight and fading. Flavor is surprisingly sweet and sugary, with honeyish, toasty, light caramel maltiness throughout, but about midpoint, seeing the advertised hops enter the picture, bringing piney, gently drying bitterness and floral hop character, and finishing on a spicy, almost grassy note. Palate is sharp, thick, resinous and warming, body is certainly full. I have to admit, I was let down a bit by it all, hoping for something more.

22 oz. Pours a clear orange in color with a well retaining medium white head. Aroma of orange, mildly catty, with a touch of floral hops and pale malts. Taste is sweet pale malts, with some orange, grapefruit, and pine- full bodied, somewhat syrupy, with a moderate bitterness that lingers in the finish and becomes somewhat grassy and astringent. Light to moderate alcohol perceivable.

Sweet pine with hints of citrus, maybe some kumquats or starfruit too in the nose. Pours straw blonde with a thin head. The alcohol is very noticable upfront, spicy notes, with intense grassy citrus notes, it ends somewhat sticky and sweet. Not bad.
