Commercial Description:
Thanks for purchasing another offering in our series of "Big Mo" Beers. For as long as people have inhabited Colorado's Front Range, the Twin Sisters have had a strong impact on Colorado residents. The views from atop the 11,428' peaks are breathtaking and afford sweeping views of the entirety of Rocky Mountain National Park. As an expression of admiration we have crafted an ale that exhibits a profound impact all its own. At 11428 IBU's (just kidding), Twin Sisters is a mountainous testament to hops, and that they bring. A feeling of ease and relaxation become apparent for all whom would dare to climb it. So for all that enjoy summiting ales with copious hops additions to achieve a felling of contentment and awe, we offer Twin Sisters Double IPA. Enjoy!

Fresh, new bomber! It’s a yellow/orange colored beer. Thin layered head that quickly disappears and leaves a ring around the glass. Nose disappoints and doesn’t deliver any bright hop aromas. Hops are present, but in light volumes, showing only light traces of tropical fruit, herbs and peach, perhaps a little caramel and cookie. Flavor is on the lighter side of the style, in both hop bitterness and hop flavor. Has malt complexity of caramel and dough, with a nice honey-like sweetness. But...there isn’t a lot of hop character and what is there is pure bitterness. It’s a pretty good beer, but for the style, it misses the mark. I usually don’t mention price, but for $ 9.00 a bomber, Left Hand needs to realizes who they are competing with in Colorado (Hopsickle, Pliny, Ruination, Moylander...all cheaper and better examples.) Thing is, it has great potential it seems, but they really need to reconsider the hop schedule.

Resinous, pine, fruit, & wildflower honey aroma. Taste is more of the same. Enjoyable enough,

Bottled. Pours a beautiful deep orange that is solid in color. Aroma is grapefruit and floral hops initially and then that changes to a thick alcoholic malt with bread and earth notes. Some hops and soil are present in the finish of the aroma. Flavor is a sweet sticky bread with a thick syrupy mouthfeel. The finish is bitter, alcoholic, and syrupy. The wet bread flavor is present in the finish.

Had this with a nice spicy pork dish. kinda dark amber color, nose is resin hops and a good amount of malt, flavor is fruity with a great hops finish, pear and the such, with good bitterness to finish. nice beer.

Pour is a orange with a large white head. Aroma has its hoppyness but nothing to the extreme like some of its counterparts. Flavour is also decently hopped but nothing jaw dropping. Finish is thick with some bitterness. I was expecting a hop bomb but this more like a hop firecracker. Decent but not great and really expensive at almost $13 a bottle!

2006 bottle conditioned. Strong caramel malt dominates the aroma. Sweet and inviting. Cloudy copper brew. heavy body, powerful alcohol presence in the flavor followed by good warmth. Big bitter dry aftertaste.

Good and malty. A heavy beer. Much like HeBrew’s Lenny R.I.P.A. It may not amaze you , but it’s solid all around.

Bright amber-gold, muddy because bottle was on side before opening. Sweet aromas of baklava, almond liqueur, and hits some barleywine notes. Fuzzy but soft mouthfeel. Biscuits. Hop comes through in throat more than tongue. Not bad but not knocking any socks off either.
