Commercial Description:
Thanks for purchasing another offering in our series of "Big Mo" Beers. For as long as people have inhabited Colorado's Front Range, the Twin Sisters have had a strong impact on Colorado residents. The views from atop the 11,428' peaks are breathtaking and afford sweeping views of the entirety of Rocky Mountain National Park. As an expression of admiration we have crafted an ale that exhibits a profound impact all its own. At 11428 IBU's (just kidding), Twin Sisters is a mountainous testament to hops, and that they bring. A feeling of ease and relaxation become apparent for all whom would dare to climb it. So for all that enjoy summiting ales with copious hops additions to achieve a felling of contentment and awe, we offer Twin Sisters Double IPA. Enjoy!

Underated. Excellent in all respects. Nice head and lace. Pleasent from first whiff to after taste. None of the harsh acidity of many Impy IPA’s. Perhaps a touch sweet but in no way cloying.

22 oz. bottle. Vintage 2008. Pours a thick, lasting, slightly off white head, with extensive lacing, over a cloudy (?dry hopping) golden (SRM 9-11) body.....nose has toffee, cereal, pine, pineapple, floral tones, honey, mild citrus, and a tiny bit of barnyard....taste mild sweet malts followed by gentle bitterness, with citrus, pine, spice, and a large helping of pineapple.....mouth feel is medium, carbonation also. This is an Imperial/Double that is lighter on pure bitterness than many, and is relying on the subtle nuances of the hop back bone for its character. This was nicely done. I would like to see the hop bill, if only for the names. Twin Sisters was the first mountain I did with my father in1960.

The appearance is a hazy, honey-gold color, through which vague shapes can be seen. The head disappears quickly but does leave some frothy lace. The aroma is roasted caramel malts, under a flowery citrus hop. There is a feint hint of bready yeast. The hops are bitter (somewhat soft, maybe due to age), and kick some citrus and flowery esters. Almost an amber-like malt. Hops would be nicer if they were just a tad fresher. Still pleasant enough. Creamy and a bit chewy on the palate; milky. A decent -- if slightly overpriced -- ale. Nice enough but the hops didn’t blow me away.

Poured amber in color with a tall creamy off-white head. Caramel malts in the aroma with hint of earthiness. The flavor has the citrus and pine feel backed with moderate malts. Medium body and a creamy texture

A very attractive pour. Dirty apple cider appearance with a thick light tan head that has good retention. A big sweet fruit aroma beckons even from a distance. Also noted are yeast, caramel, and floral fragrances. A huge hop profile with a tasty assortment to offer. Huge bitterness, too. Just as big and just as complex is the balancing sweetness. I don’t give a lot of 4 scores but this IIPA deserves it.

Good malty, chewy flavor, slightly roasted. Hop flavor, but hardly bitter. Not bad, a good buzz and an easy drink. Rather go with something of more substance for the price, tho. Bottle at Lucky Liquors, Miami, Florida.

Clear yellow/orange pour. Slightly sweet hops with an overhand feel of tartness. Sour hops with a hint of mint???? Cool.
