Commercial Description:
Thanks for purchasing another offering in our series of "Big Mo" Beers. For as long as people have inhabited Colorado's Front Range, the Twin Sisters have had a strong impact on Colorado residents. The views from atop the 11,428' peaks are breathtaking and afford sweeping views of the entirety of Rocky Mountain National Park. As an expression of admiration we have crafted an ale that exhibits a profound impact all its own. At 11428 IBU's (just kidding), Twin Sisters is a mountainous testament to hops, and that they bring. A feeling of ease and relaxation become apparent for all whom would dare to climb it. So for all that enjoy summiting ales with copious hops additions to achieve a felling of contentment and awe, we offer Twin Sisters Double IPA. Enjoy!

750 ml. brown champange style bottle. No freshness date seen.Poured out a hazy orange color, with a sticky tan head. Aromas are of sweet malts, grapefruit hops, and not much else. Flavors are of grapefruit hops, mostly. Some malts sneak in for a brief appearance. Thin body, even thinner mouthfeel. Burning alcohol at the end. Not the best double IPA I ever had.

Bottle, 75cl corked. Pours an orange-golden, hazy body with a dense, medium-sized, off-white head. The aroma is nice, but maybe a bit sweetish, with beef-stock, resin and pine. Sweet, resiny and piney flavor with beef-stock, some alcohol and a lovely bitterness. Full body, and a long, fruity and bitter finish. A wonderful combo of hops and malt. (071228)

Thanks to Juancho. Really good DIPA. No that hoppy, I would have liked a little bit more hops. Not very complex very unidimensional.

Pretty disappointed in this one. Cloudy pour, decent head. Smells more malty and sweet than hoppy. Tastes more malty than hoppy as well. It is an older bottle but still not much hop presence at all in this one. Drain pour....

Dark amber color with an off white head that sticks around. Subtle smell of piney hops, sweet malts. Med/full bodied. Good taste is nicely balanced with bready malts, light caramel, with a subtle hop bite to finish. Alcohol is well cloaked. A smooth and easy drink. one of my favorite L/H brews. 12806

750 ml bottle. Hazy orange body with an off-white head. Aroma is rich hoppy/ citrus. Flavor is sweet malty and bitter. Well balanced IIPA with hidden alcohol flavor and a fine bitter finish. True to the style but not really outstanding.

Sample Hotshots Feb Indy tasting - Disclaimer: I was sitting next to Eric from LH and he said this aged bottle wasn’t up to par with what they intended this beer to be. I asked what he thought of me rating it and he said "go for it"

Aroma is malty, caramel and faded citrus hops. By faded I mean, the aroma is there, but not sharp and eye-opening like you’d expect from a DIPA. Pours gold with a medium head and decent lacing. Flavor is bready malt, caramel and earthy hops. Palate is smooth and creamy. Not that I was influenced by Eric’s comments, but I agree that this is past it’s prime and could use a re-rate when the fresh ones are released. Still very drinkable.
