Commercial Description:
Thanks for purchasing another offering in our series of "Big Mo" Beers. For as long as people have inhabited Colorado's Front Range, the Twin Sisters have had a strong impact on Colorado residents. The views from atop the 11,428' peaks are breathtaking and afford sweeping views of the entirety of Rocky Mountain National Park. As an expression of admiration we have crafted an ale that exhibits a profound impact all its own. At 11428 IBU's (just kidding), Twin Sisters is a mountainous testament to hops, and that they bring. A feeling of ease and relaxation become apparent for all whom would dare to climb it. So for all that enjoy summiting ales with copious hops additions to achieve a felling of contentment and awe, we offer Twin Sisters Double IPA. Enjoy!

thanks nhorween. this was a surprisingly large letdown. not very much hops in the aroma, though it was plenty bitter. i dont remember why i didn’t really like it. the almost 10% alcohol was indeed hidden well.

Bottle. Yellowish pour with a white head. Aroma is sweet and muted and uncharacteristically unimpressive for the style. Flavor is there, but only scratches the surface of what it could be. Alcohol is well hidden. Drinkable, but not a repeat for me.

(Bottle) Pours a deep amber color with a small amount of beige head. Great hoppy aroma. The taste was a similar, but not quite up to par with the aroma. Not overly bitter, but that keeps it in balance. I also picked up some earthy notes in here. Some citrus and smoke as well. Pretty good, but not overly impressive.

(750ml) I’ve never seen my ratings so close to Oakes - I’m rubbin off on the old sac. Foamy almond head with a deep orange body. Nose of candied oranges, marmalade and seville oranges. Tart smoky and sweet - but unbalanced and under-whelming. Courtesy of gracious trader BeerandBlues2.

Hazy copper-amber colour. Big hop nose - melon, mango, pineapple, lime. Flavour is quite sweet but with abundant fruitiness from the hops. Finishes both syrupy and resiny...true to style I guess but not a combination that actually works.

750 mL bottle. Poured a hazy orange color. Head was off white with good retention and lacing. Caramel and biscuit malt dominated aroma with grapefruity hops coming in a close second. And then there was the whiff of alcohol. Maybe a bit more than a whiff. Resiny, sticky and slightly sweet on the tongue. Equally balanced malt, citrus hop, and alcohol flavors with tempered hop bitterness.

Some bitter hops, some pine notes. Sweet and almost caramel like on the finish. All in all a pretty good IPA, but even coming off of a 2 month craft beer break like me it really isn’t that impressive. This isn’t as strong as I like my double ipas. I was really hoping for a hop monster, and this beer really didn’t come through for me. Like I said before, pretty quality beer, but not good enough for the price or for me to try again.

Pours a light orange color with a off white head. Aroma is malty with some bitter hops. Flavor is malty/caramel with some bitter hops.
