CaptBier (253), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 25, 2008 Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet grassy, citrusy, and hoppy on an OK malt back ground, leading to a dry bitter finish.
RSRIZZO (1018), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 6, 2008 Aroma is a citric hop scent with an almost nutmeg like tone in the back. Color is a hazy bronze with good carbonation and a thick tight head. Taste is hoppy and smooth. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth and rich. Finish jumps out hoppy with an even mix of citrus and floral hop flavor this is followed by a nice maltiness that seems to have a hint of fruit then a bold bitter bite. After taste is more bitterness and a lingering citrus. This is an excellent Double IPA, its got bold hop flavor with out assaulting you with too much citrus. JMFG (1173), Florida, USA Oct 3, 2008 On tap @ RLRL. Golden-copper color, thin even white head. Very citric hop aroma, light alcohol. Decent palate. Up front piney hops and apricot malts flavors. Nice balance, although very fruity. fakepurseninja (547), Sammamish, Washington, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bomber - Great looking body. Deep gold with a great fluffy head. Big sweet malt backbone that scared me initially with the rye but it was done in a present yet non-assertive manner that gave it that crispness that played in well to the big resiny hop character. back to the malt, very sticky caramel sweetness with a solid roasted component. The hops what one would expect, big sappy pine with plenty of grapefruit and lingering resin notes. Floral yet pungent. Well built drink. daknole (835), Plantation, Florida, USA Oct 1, 2008 Bottle from total wine. Pours a gold color and a pretty big head. Aroma is malty, sticky and hoppy as well. Flavor is very hoppy. Some bitterness is there and some malts are present. I didnt get the overwhelming ntoes of dish soap that some have. I liked this and thought it was pretty well done. CaryTheDude (258), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Sep 27, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Oh, no! I thought I’d never have a bad double ipa. I was wrong. Hardly anything going on with this one, except dishsoap.
