Poured amber in color with a tall creamy off-white head. Caramel malts in the aroma with hint of earthiness. The flavor has the citrus and pine feel backed with moderate malts. Medium body and a creamy texture

Pours a cloudy copper/orange. Mostly diminishing creamy off-white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is hoppy with some maltiness in the background. The hoppiness is pine and citrus. The maltiness is kinda a light sweet bread. The taste is a light bitter, creamy and a slight caramel presence. The body is medium and the carbonation average.

Clear medium amber color with light-bodied eggshell colored head. Decent retention and very good lacing. Smells very tasty. Nice big hoppiness. Pine resin and citrus notes. Pineapple and spiceiness. Light kiss of malty sweetness. Wow. This is a very nicely balanced double IPA. Good level of sweet malt flavors in the front. Nice piney, citrusy hops flavor in the middle. Spicey Rye wraps it up with a nice bite at the end. There is an underlying buttery caramel pineapple flavor throughout. Nice creamy mouthfeel. A little light in the body for my tastes, in general. Although, for an IPA it’s pretty dead on, right where it should be. Even at 9% ABV, this is one freakin’ tasty and highly drinkable beer. The alcohol is practically undetectable on the tongue. IMO, this is a truly exceptional offering from a great brewery. Thank you Left Hand!

Dark golden pour from bottle. Plenty of hoppy bitterness. Decent IPA, however, for a less costly Left Hand IPA go with Warrior.

sample at The 2009 Great Decatur Beer Festival on 10/17/09... pours a dark golden... big hop and malt driven aroma... medium body with a balanced amount of hops and malts... this is less hop forward than most IIPAs... feels a bit average, but still tasty.

A very slight haze, but otherwise a middle of the road amber color. Generous head retains well, very light textured head at that. Nose is on the weaker side - not a lot of big aromatic notes that scream at you. I detect a clean, light citrus such as lemon peel. Very light. Flavor is alcohol. Oh, besides that... well, let me retaste... Ok there’s some hops too, but mostly warm alcohol flavor with a tinge of malt in there. Finish is very warm, from the alcohol. Why was this bottled in such a special way? Shouldn’t have made it to production, IMO.

Very good IPA. Strong, bitter and has quite a kick. Real good brew. .
