| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Pour is a ruddy brown color. Aromas are citrus, hops, and malt. Flavors are same. A little sweet on the finish. bw1982 (79), , Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 16, 2009 Large Bottle. Bottle pours a deep gold color, with a frothy tan head. Lacing stays around throughout the glass. Aromas here are great, very fruity (melon, I believe), with some great hops and some sweetness, maybe toffee. Flavors are very similar, with more hops and some pine flavors. The fruit flavor changes to more citrus, and there is some caramel behind the piney hops. NachlamSie (1647), Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 14, 2009 On tap at the Brick Store. Pours a cloudy dark gold with a fair looking head. I was hoping for more hop character in the aroma, though a reasonable pineapple/lemon note is present. A butterscotch type sweetness is noted. Again, the hops are more or less balanced with the malts in the flavor. This isn’t very bitter. Hints of lemon drops, pineapple, cheese, popcorn and wood are found. This isn’t really what I look for in an IPA. I want more sharp hop body. IPAGargoyleGuy (139), Troy, NY, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 13, 2009 I wish the fresh hop flavor came through more. Instead this beer is dominated by the malts, and that was dissappointing for a hophead like me. HonkeyBra (1361), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Orange pour with light, white head. Some hops in the aroma. Seems like the hops are gone in the flavor. Some pineyness. Otherwise, I need to try this fresh. Just average old. GodOfThunder (878), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2009 On draft at Redlight. Pours amber with a piny hop nose. Flavor is more fresh pine hops with a good sweetness. Good IPA. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Pours a copper amber with a mild haze. The nose is bready, malty, mildly spicy hops, peanut shell aroma I get from Centennials. The flavor tastes a little past prime, probably should have drank this sooner. Malty, bready, waxy bitterness, some resinous piny character. Palate is waxy and bitter. Overall, I wasn’t crazy about this. Tastes like Left Hand for sure, has the same character as their ESB. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2009 Rosy color. Aroma is sweet and musty. Taste is not hoppy at all. Slightly sweet, light finish. Not conducive to the IPA style, but a decent beer nonetheless.
