| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Nov 30, 2008 A nice IPA. Aroma was just so so. Distant grapefruit and citrus hops. Pour was a beautiful deep amber with a one finger off whiite ring for a head. Taste was nice and bitter. Strong mouth biting hoppiness throughout with a hint of maltiness in the front. The aftertaste is strong grapefruit hops. Little to no carbonation which killed this beer for me. With carbonation this beer would be in the 4s Strykzone (1478), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Clear amber brown with a small soapy head that soon leaves vertical lacing on the glass. A delightful nose has more pine that I have found in a beer. Some fruit and caramel as well. First sip screamed grapefruit but the same sip soon became caramel and orange peel. Somewhere along the way it becomes bitter grapefruit again. Each sip follows this pattern. Some biscuit can be found along the way. I’m not sure about the "wet hopping" process, but there does seem to be an exceptional freshness to this beer. This is a delightful IPA. It is complex and offers some surprises.
