Commercial Description:
This English-style Barleywine is fermented and aged for ten months and dry hopped for two months prior to packaging to give it a smooth mouth feel rarely found in the bitter American barleywines. Its copper color is the result of twelve house of boiling to caramelize the sugars and we also add five varieties of hops during an additional two hour boil. As you can see and taste, we brew this beer with the highest level of quality in mind. Please enjoy this warming barleywine with its warming flavors and hint of peat very responsibly. Malts: Pale, Crystal, Peated. Hops: Magnum, Centennial, Northern Brewer, Cascade, Tettnanger, East Kent Goldings, Fuggles. 70 IBUs.

Bottled. Hazy amber coloured. Malty and fruity aroma. Sweet, malty, fruity and slightly hoppy flavour. Rather light bodied for a barley wine. Slightly bland.

Cloudy strawberry blonde color with a frothy, sticky white lace - herbal nose, but candylike as well - very mild for a barleywine - grainy, French ale qualities and a mild sweetness - slightly astringent, with hops that don’t balance well - not all that good of a barleywine.

Good entry level barleywine beer here. Medium brown color with a VERY thin head. Light aroma but it is good. Taste is not too sweet or bitter and has a good combination of hop and malt combination. Pleasant to drink, but nothing new here.

750 ml bottle. Clear bubbly orange with a huge white head of limited duration...oaky-caramel nose, seems a bit oxidized, pleasant but light and simple...very sweet, caramel-filled body with vanilla and prune notes, fairly heavy carbonation and evident alcohol...rather syrupy and sugary to finish...mediocre.

Bottle. Hazy light brown with a thin head. Nose is woody and kind of raw. Taste-tannic, bitter up front, dirty, raw, honey, and alcohol. Overall this has a very "raw" taste.
