Poor head retention and poor lacing. Aroma of raisin, caramel and toasted malts, Taste is raisin, brown sugar, tea and light spice. Thin bodied and slightly watery. Not very much like a dubbel and though drinkable, not really a very good beer. Disappointing. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Bottle. Poured honey amber body with a foamy golden head. Aroma was spicy, honey, apricot, citrus, lots of candi sugar, and dark fruits. Flavor was very sweet and spicey, dark fruits, raisin, then a carbonated bite followed by a slightly citric finish. Better than Maredsous 8 to be honest; much more flavor. The only drawback is the amount of carbonation being slightly overdone. bu11zeye (5608), Frisco, Texas, USA
