Commercial Description:
Brewed in the classic English tradition, this India Pale Ale is made with all English base malt, three Belgian specialty malts and all European noble hops. The Duke is dry-hopped for aroma with East Kent Goldings and Fuggles hops. The finished product is light amber in color and unfiltered to retain all the flavor.

Notes from Desmond Brew Fest 2005. I am almost certain that I rated this in the past. Anyhow, it poured deep coppery, with aroma of floral hops, rich caramel malt, and some spicy and peppery notes. medium, crisp palate with solid complexity. I hope they resurrect this one.

great smell, good taste, but it has a metallic after-taste, drinkable, nice lasting head.

Very woody and floral hop aroma, lended quite a bit of piney bitterness, the malt profile was rich, almost earthy. Robust alcohol content made it slighty harder to drink than I would like.

On draft outdoors on the Standard Tap deck. What a pleasant surprise! Rich, hoppy ale, lots of complex flavors. Will have to come back for more...

on draft at canal street pub about a block from the brewery. This brewery is off to a great start. They don’t have much of a selection yet, but what they have is just fine for now. this is a solid IPA all the way! complex and tasty. hazy auburn appearance with 1 and 1/2 inch frothy white head. begins sweet, then rich and MALTY, followed by a nice spicyness in the finish with some distinctive caramel and hops too. slightly unbalanced with malt coming out on top, but the hops are in there...don’t worry. givr’ a try if you’re in the keystone state sometime. you’ll be glad you did. overall...a tasty treat and would gladly purchase this when it’s made available in bottles in a couple of months. (hopefully) ...also tried legacy pilsener. this must be a new addition to the legacy family, as it is not yet listed on this site. decent pils, not great, but far from bad. malty up front with some hops and slight fruitiness in the finish. kinda bland compared to others. Prima and stoudts pils are still the best (imo) now if only i could get my hands on some of that dogfishhead prescription pils! somebody help!

Tasted on tap at the Moody Monkey. Amber in color. Hoppy aroma with a nice hoppy bitter taste.

Not a bad IPA, dark amber in color, nice fluffy white head that laced around the glass, nice floral aroma, the malt profile was a little too over-powering, the hops should have been the focus of the beer, don't get me wrong there was a nice hop profile but there was just a little too much malt, spicy & dry finish, definitely worth a try

Draft at the Grey Lodge in Philly. Nice solid beer on the English IPA style. Had a good bitter bite to it.
