Based on what the style or the name sugguests, not as hoppy as I would have thought. Decent piney citrus flavors with sweetish maltiness pervading. I was expecting a stronger hops presence.
NOTE: I tasted this after a series of SERIOUSLY hoppy brews so possibly my palate had been rendered ineffective, despite my best attempts to cleanse it. Will rate this brew again later, although I did enjoy this tasty brew... Tweety (344), Vancouver, Washington, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 22, 2008 22 oz Bottle poured in to my pint glass produced a large of white head that went to good layer of lace. The body was a amberish red in color
Tons of pine and citrus aromas from the hops a real good nose on this one
The flavor on this one is hop forward. Big citrus fruit and pine flavors. A nice sweet malt presence to keeps this brew drinkable. With a nice crisp carbonation and a medium body
A good brew had it with a bunch of hot wing and it made the meal. I would drink it again if the opportunity arises

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 19, 2008 Growler. Pours orange, clear, with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus and piney hops. Flavor is of sweet malt with a bitter hops finish. Palate is medium-heavy, but for 9.1%, it’s pretty light. Mellows a bit as you drink. Quite tasty! fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Growler. Aroma of pine and resin, some citrus, bittering hops as well. Flavor more of the same with the addition of sweet, citrusy/fruity malt (light, not at all cloying, very nice). Hops definitely have a strong bittering note even if the total quanitity of bittnerness is not oppressive. Pretty dry, but sweet malt keeps it from bone dry; best of both worlds. Very enjoyable. nuplastikk (1227), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 15, 2008 22oz bomber bottle. Amber-tan color, looks relatively transparent/potentially filtered. Very dry and piny taste. Citrus and alcohol notes as well. Bitter and crisp. Lots of fresh IPA character as compared with others IIPAs that walk awfully close to the Barleywine line. Mellows and becomes smoother and creamier by mid-glass. Excellent beer, a treat for the locals I’m sure. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Poured an effervescent amber with a fizzy/frothy off-white head. Aroma of lemony citrus, some pine and grass, a bit of alcohol and some grapefruit zest. Flavor is refreshingly bitter with notes of lemon rind, some pine, some earthiness, and a bit of alcohol. As the beer warms, some less tasteful elements arise, such as a bit of dishwater soapiness and some butter toffee in the malt. Finishes lightly bitter. On the plus side, the alcohol is pretty well masked and the lemony bitterness is refreshing. However, this also contains some flavor flaws, and the body doesn’t have the light sweetness and depth I look for in a double IPA. The hop profile almost feels more proper for a regular session IPA. Ok I guess, but I doubt I will remember this one long past the initial tasting., jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2008 22oz bottle-pours an off white head and gold/amber color. Aroma is resin/pine hops, with some sharpness and slickness of an I2PA, some medium malt. Taste is raw/bitter-resin/pine hops (nugget, cascade?) with some tea leaf/tannins?, with some sharpness and slickness of an I2PA, some medium malt. Right on style for an I2PA, which is a bit big for me. Occasional.
