22 oz from Julio’s in Westboro. Pours a light copper with a white head. Nice hops flavor, crisp initial taste. Something a little off for me in the aftertaste, otherwise I would rate higher. Very smooth though for 9%. Solid.

Draught at National Mechanics. Copper color with citrus hop aroma. First sip: yes I love IPAs like this. Afterthought: how can you not love a beer named this? Heavy on the hops and light on the malts. Aftertaste? Yes hops! It lives up to its name. I will drink this beer again.

Bottle courtesy of DocLock -- thanks!

This is an IIPA the way that I love IIPAs. It pours relatively light in color, clear light amber with an impressive light-tan head. Lovely nose dominated my peach and pineapple, of course a bit of citrus. This is a dry, quaffable IIPA. None of that sticky sweetness, the malts definitely taking a back seat, splendid splendid hop-driven flavors, leafy, tropic fruit, of course bitter but not kick-in-the-teeth bitter like e.g. Ruinition (which this otherwise resembles, in some ways, though Diamond Knot Industrial is perhaps closer). I love it, and the bottle goes down so fast that I don’t know what hit me. My wife loves it too; she doesn’t do the most bitter oily IIPAs, so that says something.

Splendid beer, worthy of west-coast accolades, and thus far my favorite legacy brew by a long margin.

bomber from g&g. pours lighter than many double IPAs, golden orange with a 1/2 inch white head. Aroma left something to be desired. It was clearly hoppy, but lacked good floral notes and had mostly lemon zest rather than grapefruit and pine. I also got an an nutty scent along with some grassy notes. Flavor was unfortunately, nothing special. Again, the lemon zest and bitter hops dominated but it was lacking some sweetness and complexity. I hardly tasted the malt on the back end. Mouthfeel was decent, and the 9% was not overpowering. Overall, a bit lacking in flavor and aroma for a double IPA and if not for the name, would be forgettable.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orangeish color. Aroma of citrus with a great deal of floral hop aroma to it. Slightly alcoholic finish to me, but a decent enough IIPA, if slightly forgettable if not for the name and label.

22oz bottle. Translucent orange with a medium sized white head. Heavy candied citrus and floral hop aromatics. Heavy vegetal bitterness up front. Tinges of sweet malt underneath piney and perfumey hop flavors. Citric hop flavors linger in the finish, with a grassy bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, rather dry.

Had this on tap at the Brickskeller. Pours a hazy gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is hoppy, heavy on the lemons. Flavor is all bitterness and hops, the light malt gives very little backing. Finish is a little sticky and bitter. I think IIPAs should have a nice, complimentary malt component to round things out. Lacking that malt, this beer was a little one dimensional for me.
