The aroma is hoppy, citrusy, cannabis, oily, sweet hops. The flavor is harsh waxy bitter, some citrus and grapefruit peel, very astringent, alcohol. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Split Thy Vintage Skull. Small head is to be expected from the 4 oz pour. I’ve had this beer numerous times, so I’m familiar with whats supposed to be going on and its not too bad. There’s not the cloying sweetness that most IIPAs have. This has really mellowed out nicely. Still the hops are piney and the yeast earthy. The best version of this beer Ive had yet. jimbowood (983), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Bottle courtesy of hopdog. A nice brew. Hoppy nose and piney hop flavor profile. Very nice. Mild acidity in the finish distracts. Batteries. jsh12bama (347), Alabama, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Growler from Bellport Bev. Poured a clear copper color with an off-white head. Pine and citrus hop aroma. Malty base give it a nice hop forward but balanced aroma. The flavor had a mix of pine and malt but both were way to short. Left you with just a citrus rind bitterness. Medium bodied. The 9% is well hidden and it is fairly drinkable even though I didn’t care for the taste as much as the aroma. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Feb 14, 2008 Updated: Jul 15, 2008tap, I was looking through the rateings and was amazed to see only one bad rate and I’m sorry everyone but I’m going that rout. this stuff smelled like a Christmas tree and I can only imagine but it more than likely tastes like it too. looked ok. in fact it looked like a normal beer but the taste was just God awful. too many hops. too many to drink and not get ill. as another person said this stuff is "offensive and derogatory"! it tastes like cough syrup. If you fancy yourself as someone who likes tons of Hops go for it if not stay away from this stuff. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 12, 2008 And for our final offering for the evening, we have something that’s been a long time coming. After a whole year of visits to Bierkraft I finally make the move to growlers. And what better a brewery to lose my Bierkraft growler virginity than Legacy?
Pours a nice brown touched gold with a thick off white head. Nose is extremely heavy floral hops with a soapy edge. Very, very perfumed character. Flavor is extremely smooth for a DIPA. I would never know this was 9% at all. Just a nice balanced hop ride that isn’t blowing me away, but it carries just enough punch to make it interesting. For a double, it could be bringing more complexity. But it’s still nice. Feel has a full carbonation and the liquid is nice. A nice production. Well done. Apologies to Legacy for taking so long to try any of their productions. But I guess this was as good a one as any to do it with. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Growler fill from Bellport Beer - I usually don’t care for Legacy, but with a name like this, how could I resist? - perfectly clear copper beer, with a very thin lace - strong hop resin aroma, with a fairly present sweetness underneath, with a mix of tropical fruits, like orange, pineapple, mango - fairly light-bodied for it’s strength, but it still has an oiliness to it - spicy, earthy, grassy hops dominate at first, and leave a strong, tongue tingling bitterness throughout - fairly sweet malt comes through in the middle, but doesn’t become sticky - tropical fruits show themselves, but not very strongly - this is pretty much hop/sweetness interplay, lacking any additional depth - a fairly common drawback to the style, but a valid criticism none-the-less.
