Pours a clear amber with a modest off-white head that has great retention and crazy lacing. Aroma of orange blossom honey, citrus hops, caramel, toffee, pine resin. Taste is excellent: lots of bitter, piney and resiny hops balanced by honey, caramel, white pepper, citrus with some earthiness, dirtiness, and herbal hops. Great bitter, quick finish. Creamy on the palate. Moderate carbonation. I really enjoyed this and would recommend it. Yum. Sammy (4065), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Grapefruit colour and foamy white head. A good high IBU well-integreated, citrus, and good lacing. Really bitter, bit well-malted. glennmastrange (868), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2009 Bottle. Light roasted caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy pine and grapefruit for the hops, light soap for the yeast and a hint of pepper. Head is average sized, frothy, off-white, with excellent lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is slightly hazy, but sparkling dark amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery but a little slick, has a lively carbonation and finishes slightly astringent. Tasty, but just missed the mark a bit on the overall flavors and aromas. hellbilly (1566), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

pours the color of watered down iced tea... pale copper with a slight haze and a short lived off white head which leaves sporadic lacing.
it smells of orange, caramel, flowers, earthy spices, metal and sweaty hops. normally this would be a good mix for an aroma but this one has the right things in the wrong doses... and not enough of them.
the palate is fairly well balanced... but only because there is so little going on. it is almost like someone drank half of my beer and replaced it with iced tea... boo!
flavors of orange, flowers, waxed cardboard box (you know, like the ones celery comes in!) and a dry spiced finish. it’s not sweet... but i would take that... something... anything resembling flavor.
the body is medium. at first the mouth feel is prickly from the carbonation but that soon disappears to leave a flat feeling which lacks a punch.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 10, 2009 A dark amber ale with a thick light moka head. A earthy hoppy imperial IPA, with good caramel malt, muskey and pleasant. In mouth, a decent hoppy ale with grapefruit, but overall, a bit simple and thin, veering on astringent. App.: Hazy deep amber, decent off-white foam.
Aroma: Dirty, soapy, earthy, savoury hops, some marmalade and sweet maltiness, slightly grassy and peppery, leafy hops.
Palate: Medium body and medium-full carbonation.
Flav.: The same hop notes, a bit greener and more peppery, quite bready, less malt; slightly sweet with high bitterness and a strange dirty/earthy/leafy hop aftertaste.
Great bitterness, but over the top hop flavours. Tmoney99 (4800), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Heavy sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Heavy smooth bittersweet hoppy flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
This is a very good beer. PJClarke (717), London, Greater London, England

Very USA hops. Fuddy cheese, pine and grapefruit. Sweet and light bitterness.
Very green. Nettles and weed. Bitter on the lips and lightly over te rest of the mouth. Pretty perfect.
A bit weirdly cheesy throughout though.
