Commercial Description:
Midnight Wit is a Belgian-style white ale with a medium body and spicy, citrus overtones. The texture is silky, creamy, and refreshingly delightful. Brewed with European Pilsner malt, unmalted wheat, a blend of 5 different spices and then fermented with a classic Belgian yeast strain. Our Brewmaster learned the art of brewing tantalizing and award-winning white beers during his time in Belgium and this beer shows it.

Bottle. Overly strong yeast component to the aroma, but with coriander and peel in expected amount. Sweet and relatively enticing. Yellow-golden pour with lots of carbonation and a rocky soapish white head. Crisp light body. A touch too firm on the coriander, and the malt is weak and slightly grainy, but the effort is not without positives.

Slightly cloudy golden coloured body with striking yellow/white highlights and a very thin white head. Very nice in appearance! Aroma of coriander seed, curacao, wheat and yeast - exactly what you’d expect from a wit! Light-bodied; Sharp coriander seed freshness mixed with a lot of wheat up front. Aftertaste cuts through with lemons, curacao and pine. Overall, a very nice wit - pretty true to the way it should be made. I think this was better than the average review and would sample this again in the midst of summer on the East Coast. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 11-January-2008.

Aroma very strong spices and belgain candy sugar. Very sweet malts, corainder, orange peel. Body very chewy and taste is very sweet. Some spices come through but is dominated by the cloying sweetness. A bit heavy on the tongue.

Bottle: Lots of citrus in the nose. Fruity. Light body is fleeting and has massive overtones of citrus and a hint of hops. Minimal head. No lacing. Minimal carbonation. Petty drinkable though. corriander and then light powdered sugar for finish.

[Draft @ Capone’s] Poured a cloudy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of grains, citrus, orange peel, and coriander. Taste of pils malt, cereal, wheat, toffee, citrus, and light orange peel.

12oz bottle-pours a white head and slightly hazy pale yellow color. Aroma is coriander, wheat, yeast, citrus, spiciness. Taste is citrus-lemon/tart, spiciness, coriander, wheat, yeast, musty. Interesting. OK effervescence. Taste doesn’t follow aroma.

Poured a hazy golden yellow. No head whatsoever. The smell reminded me of Trix or Fruit Loops. The taste was sweet, almost too sweet.

Top of bottle has a coating...lets call this spooge...cloudy golden with a delicate off white head....very pretty orange-yellow....smells like orange and subtle clove...zingy on the palate, fresh but with a lingering aftertaste...creamy and refreshing all at once....simple yet fulfilling...nice lacing
