Commercial Description:
Midnight Wit is a Belgian-style white ale with a medium body and spicy, citrus overtones. The texture is silky, creamy, and refreshingly delightful. Brewed with European Pilsner malt, unmalted wheat, a blend of 5 different spices and then fermented with a classic Belgian yeast strain. Our Brewmaster learned the art of brewing tantalizing and award-winning white beers during his time in Belgium and this beer shows it.

Pale slightly fruity aroma. Lightly spicy flavor. Light overall but ok for a summer brew. Sampled at Stoudts 17th Annual Microfest: June 2008

12oz. Bottle: Smelled of newsprint, cardboard, a bit of clove and spices, and a touch of pine hops. Poured golden in color with a medium white head that diminished very quickly. No lacing. Lightly sparkling. Hazy. Flavor is medium to heavily sweet. Tastes of spices, with a lot of clove and a fair amount of yeast. Light to medium body. Tingly texture. Average carbonation. Sweet clove finish. Overall, too sweet.

Bottled version pours a cloudy maize with small quickly receding head. Aroma is redolent with grapefruit and lemon. This brew is tarter than most wits and elicits a mouthwatering return at each sip, but is sometimes overbearing. Not bad, but not in the top tier of Wits.

Bottle: Poured very light in color, bright golden, even. Not until the bottom of the bottle is out do you get a bit of yeasty swirl. The head is initially fizzy, but generally thin and uninspiring. The aroma is yeasty and fruity, swirly even. This settles into a musty swilly looking thing. This drinks like an American wheat, gristy, yet fruity. Definitely sedimented. If you like your beers with residual yeasty stuff, go for it. (#3434 (cool number), 4/24/2008)

Pint served on tap at the HDG. a Wit heavy on the spice aspects of this style but low on the other positive aspects of this beer. Color is very clear yellow - looks like a bud lite. Low on taste.

Pours a clear golden color with a very thin white head. Sour wheaty aroma with some citrus. Flavor is decent: slightly sour malt, citrus tang. Nothing overwhelming about it, but good.

Smells like junk, but actually tastes nice with a huge amount of citrus. This is one tasty beer, albeit not completely up my alley. Still, it is easily approachable and sure to please. Not a bad one to change up the pace.

Bottle Pours a yellowish gold with a decent white head. Has a decent lacing. Good citrus aroma, almost flowery. Taste is good. You can definately taste the citrus. Not much of an aftertaste. A good refreshing beer.
