Lots of piney sweet hops in this one, quite grapefruity. Lots of sweet caramelly malt notes. Some light toasty notes aswell aswell as a touch of diacetyl. Quite intense flavour/mouthfeel. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2007 Draft. Nice looking burgundy-brown. Not much foam, yet ring of light orange head remains throughout. Nothing especially distinctive about the flavoring but I detect some sort of plum or raisiny flavor. Well balanced in that high alcohol content is unnoticeable. Hops presence is obvious. Not overly carbonated which is a very good thing.
Personal Note: I was on Vicodin and drank two of these things and I was flying high! LooseCannon (936), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2006 2006 Bomber. Pours a deep, clear orange with a dense tan head. Big nose - I could smell it the second I popped the top. Sweet malt, orange, some resin, deeper scents of caramel and peach, plus a definate alcohol presence. Thick tan lacing. Flavors of orange peel, sugar cookie, sweet malt and an almost tropical fruitiness. Bittersweet finish, and the alcohol warms the throat. Will be interesting to see how this ages. maeib (4766), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

The aroma is big with well balanced malt, hops and alcohol.. The taste is again big yet not extreme. Nicely balanced hops, malt and alcohol make this a nicely drinkable barley wine. harrisoni (6871), Ashford, Kent, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2006 LCRBM2. Dark copper colour with beige head. Nice toffeeish beer. Great hop on the end. Orange/tangerine fruit. Good choc/coffee too. Spicey hot alcohol on end. Not as bad as I thought it might be. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Pours a dark, red brown with a large, yellowish head. The sticky-sweet caramel aroma is backed up by a bit of harshness from the alcohol and hops. The flavor is sweet malt, very ripe fruits and alcohol. jbrus (4895), Delft, Netherlands
