Commercial Description:
We fermented the Single on the same Belgian Trappist yeast strain as the White Ale (also the same yeast our Tripel is brewed on ). The recipe includes 100% malted barley (no wheat malt), Czech Saaz hops, and a bit of bitter orange peel for balance and a subtle spiciness. The name “Single” denotes the strength of the brew. For example, while our Belgian “Tripel” comes in around 10% ABV, the Single is 4.5% ABV. Expect a clear, deep yellow brew with a bubblegum/fruit aroma. Flavors include fruit (apples, pears, citrus), as well as a faint graininess and a slight spice from the hops and orange peel. The flavor starts out dry, quickly turning sweet and fruity. The finish is tart and spicy. It is the perfect compliment to grilled meats and vegetables, as well as salads, sushi, etc.

Light clear copper, thinnish white head. Lemon, orange, light corrainder, yeast. Rather sweet - lemon, yeast, a little funk. Orange a hint of yeast in the finish. Candy and very light straw malt.

Light fruity, lemon, yeast, and spice. A pretty good beer, not at the top of its class though. But, it is a good beer, and legend brewing continues to make nothing but solid beers.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a medium golden color with a large sized white head. Aromas of lemons, citrus, yeast, caramel, and bananas. Tastes of lemony citrus, green apples, yeast and some spices. I liked the light green apple tartness in the finish.

Bottle. Translucent gold with a mall fluffy white head. Nose is spicy and yeasty with lots of bubblegum and fruity esters. Taste is good! Fruity with light caramel, yeast, spices and bubblegum. Almost hefe-like in aroma and taste with a Belgian ale mixed in. Body is light-medium with moderate carbonation. Finishes with Belgian yeastiness, ripe fruits, mellow hops, bubblegum, candyish notes and light spice. Nice beer!

Legends from The_Beer_God!

Poured a golden sunset of a body and a billowing tour of white head. The aroma hangs with suggestions of banana, clove, pear, orange blossom honey, and bubblegum. The flavor encompasses every facet of the aroma with some citric orange peel and biscuity yeast … Finish is a silky dry finish finally. I very much enjoyed this beer. A combination Belgian / Hefeweizen / summer session beer……. I like!

Thanks to hopdog for this... Appears a transparent medium gold with a small bubbly white head that quickly fades out. Smell is of pils malt with and Belgian yeast, candy, dough, chalkyness, apricot. Taste is of the same aromas with gentle spices, and a mild sour & sweetness. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, sweet, and mildly tart.
