radagast83 (1042), Springfield, Virginia, USA Sep 3, 2007 Draft at Capital Ale House, Innsbrook. I must say that this was a touch better than their regular brown ale. The beer was Redish-Brown in color. The aromas were nutty, with caramel and a touch of hops (though not too much). It was a bit thicker and creamier than the regular version. Kinz (1897), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Aug 29, 2007 This apparently is a version of their normal brown ale, using a different yeast, but theoretically everything else stayed the same. Medium brown, creamy head. Aroma was caramel, with som earthy hop bitterness. Flavor matched. Definitely "thicker" in feel than the usual brown, which is a much cleaner brew. Rather liked this, and it is amazingly different than the usual version. Perhaps the more subtle hop notes of the other version are masked a bit here. maniac (1963), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 20, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Clear light brown body with a small creay tan head. Sweet caramel and light nutty aroma. Dry malty flavor with a light caramel background. More body and flavor than the regular brown.
