Jul 15, 2007 On draft @ Bottoms up in Richmond Va. Pours clear brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, & brown sugar. The flavor is nuts, sweetness, caramel, and brown sugar. Thin bodied, not a bad brew.

Jul 1, 2007 22oz from Once Upon a Vine, Richmond. I am usually supremely unimpressed by browns but thought I’d give this a try, as I’ve usually found Legend beers to be at least enjoyable (and hey, 3 bucks and change). Nice deep brown with a modest head, I was pleased with the relatively robust body (compared to the thinness I’ve come to expect from the style, fair or not) and the pleasant hop bouquet. Very crisp tasting and drinkable, with a decent bit of caramel malts for flavor. I’m still disinclined to the style, but kudos to Legend!

Jun 23, 2007 22 oz. brown bomber bottle. Bought cold. No freshness date seen anywhere. Poured out a light, clear brown, with a minimal tan head. Lots of lacing on this beer. Aromas are pretty standard for a brown ale. Some caramel in the flavors, balanced with the hops. Pretty standard fare here. Medium mouthfeel, decent body. Not the best brown ale I ever had, nor the worst.

May 19, 2007 Va BF 07 Draft: Strange rubber and mixed nut aroma. Pours light brown, almost gold, with a light beige head and good lacing. Nice caramel and hop balance. Hop finish. Thin mouthfeel.

May 2, 2007 Bottle Dark amber pour with thin head and no lacing. Not much aroma, but a bit of nuts. Flavor has some nuts and a bit of floral hops. Pretty smooth. Not great, but not bad.

Apr 11, 2007 Pours a clear deep bronzy amber with a thin off white head and some light lacing. Aroma is chocolately and lots of nutty character and some light floral and tea-like hops. Good nutty toasted malt profile with light roast, some acrid black malt drynesss, and a floral herbal hop bitterness. Solid mouthfeel and finish. Good brown ale overall.
