Paired it with some gourmet fudge and have to say i enjoyed it. The guy who compared it to a bowl of cocoa pebbles is right on. Rich chocolate aroma and flavor with a bit of lactose sourness. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark brown, near black body with a small, fine tan head.
Smell: Butter-cocoa aroma. Ugh, not another Legend Butter Bomb.
Taste: The extreme butter taste reigns over the chocolate. There’s some sweetness, even some roast hiding in there, but the HIGH amount of diacetyl spoils it. Bleh.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slick mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Legend, oh Legend, won’t you ever escape the diacetyl problem? decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA

Light toasted malt aroma with a bit of sour. A flavor of chocolate that is a bit on the sour side but a pleasant sour. Carbonation is good but mouthfeel is a bit thin. A good beer right on the edge of really good. I would like to try it fresh from the tap. TURDFERGUSON (1607), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

Some cooca, smoke, roasted malt, and sourness in the nose. Flavor also tastes a little off with an uncomfortable sourness surrounding the chocolate and coffee flavors. Enjoyed the regular Legend porter fairly well, so I was eager to sup this one. It’s thick and creamy, and oily dark brown, very handsome. But I could swear that the aroma - at least initially - was peanut butter and jelly. No problem, I mean I’ll drink PB & J. The taste gets closer to expectations, but there’s an oddness that I just can’t place - some dough, some wood, a bit of s’mores. Not bad at all. vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Pours pure black with thick dark beige head that drops fast. Aroma is strong cocoa, expresso and some faint raisons. Basically smells like a chocolate cake. The taste is dark chocolate, expresso with a light hop spiceness. No sweetness. Aftertaste leaves you with the flavor of bitter chocolate. Highly carbonated. Okay, but I grew tired of the taste by the end of the glass. MartinT (5075), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 14, 2008 My Bottom Line:
High-flying cocoa dominates this slender Porter, as roasted malts and leafy hops agreeably reach equilibrium underneath. This was a fun and sweet novelty beer, but I can’t say it struck a cord with me.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the blackness.
-There is less chocolate in the flavor department, but this flavor profile wasn’t more enticing by any means.
-This would be a fine pint to accompany some desserts.
-The finish was more of the same, some chocolate and some light roastiness.

Large foamy head, off-white. Aroma is chocolate and something kinda wheaty. Like cocoa pebbles. Also a touch of citrus. taste is more of same with some toffee thrown in as well. A little thin, but still creamy.
