Commercial Description:
Due to explosive sales of this year’s Oktoberfest, we’ll be releasing Legend Chocolate Porter a little earlier than normal. We tweaked the recipe this year by adding some additional dark malts to the mash. A touch of natural cocoa extract is added to the finished beer for a rich, robust Porter with plenty of roasted, coffee, and of course, chocolate flavors. Always a favorite during the holiday season.

Thanks for sharing Yaniv! Dark dark brown with a nice tan head. Smells like Swiss Miss. Not too sweet, some raisins and dates thrown in. Full creamy mouth, a bit light on the tongue. Ok,. Cocoa powser bitterness. a bit of an unclean fruity roast. Dates, raisins. Restrained. Roasty bitter flavor lingers.

Hey thats ok... not too bad (but not too good) light chocolate in this beer makes it a pleasant surprise.

Bottle; poured a very dark brown with a smallish brown head. Aroma had a very strong dark chocolate aroma; some roasted and toffee hints. Unlike a lot of beers that call themselves "chocolate," this one actualy tastes alot like chocolate. Palate wasn’t great as some had mentioned and I also picked up a little bit of sourness. I also agree with an earlier rater that this was almost more stout than porter. However, I found it very tasty. Near the end of the beer some wood and roasted flavors emerged. Was pleasantly surprised with this one.

ery flavorful beer. dark brown appearance with tan head. nose is very strong of bitter chocolate. flavor is full of roasted malt and a very strong chocolate components, probably the most prevalent i have ever had. i guess you could say this is an unbalanced beer, but it’s quite unique

Pronounced aroma of cocoa and chocolate syrup. Opaque black pour with a thick dark brown head. Thinnish mouthfeel, nice taste of mocha. There are some smoke and currant notes at midpalate, but they don’t seem to be well blended. Charred oak and grass finish. NIce flavors, poor balance.

22oz. Deep dark brown body with off-white head. Loads of carbonation coming up the side of the glass. Mostly cocoa in the nose, same for the body. A bit less complex than I expected, while the chocolate isn’t overwhelming you really should enjoy cocoa powder to enjoy this one. Some roasted and sour malt that saves this from a drain pour.

This has a wonderful chocolate aroma with some a nice thick head. The body is a little on the light side for a porter. The flavor is very good with some solid chocolate and coffee toans, but the palate is a little abrupt with a subtle sourness to it. Overall, it is a very enjoyable beer.

22oz bottle courtesy of my Secret Santa (Numenor--thanks!), no date. Pours black with a three finger dark brown fading head. Aroma is quite earthy and roasty with some very unsweetened cocoa and coffee in the background. There is also a bit of an off sour acidity. The flavor is a bit salty and sour--not in a good way. There is also some grainy and roasted malt, not really much chocolate or coffee to speak of. Dry roasty finish. Higher carbonation with a light-medium body. Not terribly fantastic.
