Poured from bomber a bright golden blond. Formed nice bubbley foam, left incredible lacing. Aroma of cotton candy, hops, field grass. Flavour was sweet, with a slight toffee character. Nice surprise, good beer from Legend. Thanks Steve! ¾ (5009), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 21, 2008 22oz bottle pours medium honey orange color. First smell is fresh, oily hop cones, but over time and with a little temperature there’s more of this crusty bread and honey malt scent, a faint note of caramel malt as well. Flavor shows more of this caramel and honey flavor, graham cracker-like, with a moderate bitterness and a greenish note of hop leafs. Okay overall, but nothing terribly impressive. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Ahhh... so this is actually listed as an IPA. That explains a heck of a lot. Had on tap at The Fat Canary in Williamsburg, VA. From the name, thought it was a blonde. Poured golden with a small fizzy white head. Crisp aroma of grassy pine, a bit of toffee. Flavor is quite hoppy and refreshing with notes of piney and grassy hops, with a bit of earthiness and some butter toffee, which was the only noticeable flaw I found. I thought at the time that this was a rather hoppy variant of a blonde ale, but looking back, it was somewhat weak tasting for an IPA. Not bad, though. dkachur (2432), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 30, 2008 Bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. A friend of mine complained of an extraordinarily rotten vegetal type note to this from the draft version (i had the Ivienna). We’ll see. Amber color with moderate head. Tart, fruity gummy bear nose. Odd. Same with the taste. Nothing rotten here, but it definitely does have notes of elementary school fruit cocktail (in other words, foul), along with piney hop notes. Fairly drinkable, but weird, and no reason to drink ever again. joshwilfong (797), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2008 golden reddish with slight white head. floral and fruity nose, the flavor has a very fruity with only a mild hop appearance at the end. the beer would be very nice and subtle but the fruitiness really dominates the beer and the rest of the malt and hops cannot compensate, it ends up being unbalanced. jrob21 (1279), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 21, 2008 Pours a gold orange color with a quickly dissipating but decent at the beginning white head. Good lacing and sweetness to this one. As an IPA though I need some more hops. Hops were passed over here for a more full bodied malt flavor. That hops that are there are a slightly stinging bitter variety. Grass and orange aroma. This is closer to a golden belgian strong ale for me. jstraw (777), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Toasted gold with big, foamy white head / Light, sour nose / Medium, clean bodied with decent, hoppy finish / Simple flavors of toasted grain and pine, with no trace of fruit / Lacking in any sort of complexity, still pleasant and easy drinking. A hoppy pilsner. EKGoldings (447), Radford, Virginia, USA
