Sparkling apple juice body with frothy white head. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, apple juice, cookie dough. Taste is medium sweet, floral/herbal, cookie dough. Finishes with solid herb/earthy bitter, laced with a bit of buttertscotch. Light-medium body, muted carbonation. Quite drinkable. Very enjoyable, though rather unusual, IPA.

22oz bottle aquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a deeper golden color with a larger sized white head. Aromas of flowers, grass with some citrus. Also has a soapy, popcorn smell to it. Tastes of grapefruit, light caramel, grass, and some spices. Mildly bitter. Some lacing left on the glass. Thinner body. Light alcohol in the finish.

Sampled on 7/15/06 at the RBSG ’06 Grand Tasting: Pours a clear golden with a thin, nicely-lacing coating of white head. Slightly floral piny hoppy and toasty caramel malty aroma. Body starts with some mild toasty malty sweetness drying out some with a more bitter and crisp hop presence toward a warming finish. A great beer if you’re expecting a golden, but an average beer if you’re expecting an IPA.

Bottle… Hazy, yellow ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Great retention. Lots of tea and butterscotch in the aroma. The flavor has great balance. Malty, but moderately bitter with notes of grapefruit rind, black tea and a whisper of sea salt. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes bitter, grassy and dry. Thanks go out to growler for sharing!

Pours copper with a white head. Smells perfumy with some bitter citrus and resiny hints. Tastes citrussy and floral with a dry bitter finish.

22oz bottle pours medium honey orange color. First smell is fresh, oily hop cones, but over time and with a little temperature there’s more of this crusty bread and honey malt scent, a faint note of caramel malt as well. Flavor shows more of this caramel and honey flavor, graham cracker-like, with a moderate bitterness and a greenish note of hop leafs. Okay overall, but nothing terribly impressive.
