zizzybalubba (335), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Sep 15, 2009 22 oz. bottle purchased at Farm Fresh in Williamsburg, VA. Hazy, yellowish-orange pour with a fizzy white head. Sugary bubblegum aroma, some yeast, as well as a hint of apricot and clove (the apricot becomes more pronounced as I am drinking this). The taste is a bit lacking; no sweetness to be found only lemony citrus and some peaches (the peach flavor becomes more predominant as I am drinking this one). I can’t say that this is a bad beer; it’s actually decent (the normal good beer on a hot day crap). But as a hefeweizen it doesn’t give me what I want. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2009 On draft at the brewery. Murky mustard pour with ring of bright white head. Nose is lightly fruity citrus which becomes more evident in the flavor, along with some banana, and black pepper. One of the better small brewery hefe’s out there. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Aug 7, 2009 Pours hazy gold with a white head. Smells of bubblegum, citrussy, clove. Tastes sweet and citrussy with a tarte finish. PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2009 Cloudy yellow color, big foamy head. Spicy nose with some bubblegum and wee hints of banana. Flavor is sweet bubblegum mostly. Wheat grain in the finish, and a little spicy. Interesting. keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Aug 3, 2009 Nice cloudy orange pour with a big fluffy head. Aroma of citrus, clove, banana. Very nice taste of spices with an almost buttery quality. Very smooth. One of the best examples of the style I’ve had. nuplastikk (1157), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jul 2, 2009 22oz bomber. Hazy orange tan color with a fluffy, quickly diminishing head. Sweet minty clove aroma, fresh and nice. Very pleasant on the palate, with some solid lemony-clove taste. Some hop character comes through, giving it a nice balance. Light to medium-bodied, very refreshing with a lemony sweet mild astringency. Better than expected, this is a quality product. JCB (1713), Durham, North Carolina, USA May 25, 2009 Bomber from Once Upon a Vine, Richmond. Very pale and hazy pour, body looks perilously thin. Soft nose with yeast and banana, but more ripe and less sweet than is sometimes the case. Flavor’s not quite up to snuff, with things getting a bit watery and indistinct. A bit more earthy and organic, and consequently just a bit preferable to other middle of the road wheats. But nothing at all memorable. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA Aug 13, 2008 22 oz bottle poured cloudy light straw color. Banana in the aroma. Black pepper in the flavor. Some clove too. Nice lunch beer.
