Flavor is sweet, banana, yeasty, spicey, fruity, citruisy, and wheaty. Has everything a good hefeweizen needs and all the flavors tie in nicely. Not pefect, but legend did a very respectable job. badbeer (433), Iowa, USA

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a soft white head that stays around and leaves a nice lacing. Nose is composed of banana, clove, lemon, and some sort of chlorine smell. Taste is mostly clove, with some lemon and banana undertones. Quite a refreshing taste. Highly carbonated and full bodied, pretty nice. This would be a great beer to have around, other than the smell this one could rival its German counterparts. keepersj12 (811), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA

Very nice taste of spices with an almost buttery quality. Very smooth. One of the best examples of the style I’ve had. obguthr (1060), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

Cloudy pale golden pour with a thick head and good lacing. Rather strong and prominent banana flavor, but not complex. No finish worth mentioning. Still, it’s a fantastic beer and immensely enjoyable. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Textbook hefe nose - lemon, banana, light bubblegum, clove, yeast - it’s all there in varying degrees. Soft, light body, crisp, lightly tart. Flavors of wheat, lemon, clove, with light banana, yeast and bubblegum. I’m not a big fan of the style, and I still find this very good and easily drinkable. Well done! Typical wheaty aroma with weheat, yeast, cloves, black pepper and herbal hops. Nice flavor profile with yeast, a light malt sweetness, bubblegum and some banana. Finish is dry and somewhat long. Body is fuller than most hefeweizens, but is not so heavy that it deviates from what hefeweizens do so well - quench your thirst on a hot summer day. Very enjoyable. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA

It’s boiling here along the San Diego coastline today, over 90 degrees. Hey, when you’re used to 72 degrees and a cool ocean breeze, this is almost unbearable. And so drinking this amazingly clean Hefeweizen is wonderfully refreshing on a day like today. First things first, the yeast imparts significant peppery spiciness and quite a barnyard component, and this is complemented by a clean, lemony tartness. Minimally sweet, no bitterness, not really much of the expected bubblegum, banana or clove either, but perhaps because these expected components are missing, it makes this medium-bodied beer so refreshing. Not to mention the crisp, tart, clean, well-carbonated mouthfeel. The nose has modest notes of pepper and lemon, but by far, the dominant aroma for me is barnyard -- just wonderful! Golden-yellow and fully cloudy in my stemmed goblet, but when I hold this up to the bright blue San Diego sky, I can barely see the significant number of streams of small carbonation bubbles rising slowly toward the surface. And the white head is tall and fluffy immediately after pouring the beer, gradually fading to a thin, but persistent layer atop the beer. And all this when I’ve chilled the beer down to about 37 degrees. I’ve had a few problems with infections with Legend beers in the past, but this beer is not only healthy, but a pretty damn amazing Hefeweizen. Could use a bit more complexity -- hints of banana and bubblegum, I suppose -- but on a day like today, this is the perfect beer. This is one not to miss.
