| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2007 Really dark and brown in the glass with a diminishing, light tan, soft-looking head. A bit of lacing. Aromas are strong and mostly of toast. Plenty of caramel in there, too. Mildly astringent, caramel throughout, with a medium-dry finish. Bitter chocolate and a bunch of earthy flavors, especially nutty. While drinking, the hop presence begins to cut through the beer. A very nice, mild brown ale. JCB (1765), Durham, North Carolina, USA

A nice aroma comes wafting from the medium brown body with modest effervescence. Nuts, toffee, and dash of roast or wood. Not a huge fan of browns and I was pleasantly surprised by the blend of flavors, the full palate, and nice dry finish. jeffc666 (1891), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2007 Clear dark brown with a fizzy light brown head. The aroma is nutty chocolate with the typical Legend House yeast component. The flavor is nutty, some dustiness. Not overpowering brown ale flavor, which is a good thing in my book. Medium-light palate, fairly fizzy. Not one of my favorite styles but this one seems to be above average. hopdog (5581), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2007 22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a deep brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and some nuts. Tastes of roasted and toasted nuts, bitter chocolate, trace of caramel, and had a bitter coffee finish. Interesting for a brown ale. alexanderj (2252), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Bomber; poured a dark brown with a nice beige colored head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, spice, vanilla and grassy hops. Flavors of sweet chocolate, caramel, nuts, hint of grapefruit, vanilla and coffee. Without a doubt, the best of the style I have had thus far. Really enjoyed this one; Cobra (1062), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2007 22 oz. brown bomber bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep brown with ruby highlights. Has a sticky tan head and lacing. More a porter than a brown ale. Aromas are of espresso beans, chocolate brownies, slightly spicy too. Flavors are of roasted nuts, sweet caramel malts, coffee, hoppy bite at the end.
Thick body, rich & chewy. About 7% ABV is my guess. You can feel the warming buzz shortly after drinking it.
Finished slightly sweet. LooseCannon (930), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

Aroma of coffee and nothing else. Taste of roasted coffee and malt with a slight bitter and dry after taste. radagast83 (1302), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 1, 2007 22oz. bomber. Deep dark redish-brown colored pour. Nice foamy head. Aroma was that of caramels, spices, and malts. Flavor was nothing short of amazing. Creamy caramels, with a nice roasted malt flavor. Touches of coffee and dark chocolates. When drinking it it came off as more of a porter, but has a good amount of brown characterisitc to it.
