BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Oct 11, 2009 Bottle. Poured golden with a short white head. Toasted malt aroma. The flavor found corn and a light toasted malt backing. Light to medium body. egajdzis (3598), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 8, 2009 [Draft at Capital Ale House Fredericksburg, VA] Poured a dark golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toffee, honey, toast, some citrus, and a bit of corn. Taste of toasted malts, toffee, dough, and light citrus. Quaffable. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Oct 17, 2008 On tap @ the brewpub-clear golden color w/a moderate white head. Faint grain aroma w/traces of diacetyl. This one was somewhat skunked. Flavors of corn, bread dough, hop & diacetyl. Worst beer I had here, wasn’t a good start. Fortunatly, things picked up f/here vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Sep 27, 2008 Pours clear golden with a rocky off-white head. The aroma has lots of butter, smooth minimally toasted pale malt, odd fruitiness and some plastic. Medium body with mild carbonation. The flavor starts with some sour fruit, funked up maltiness and light tartness. The finish is very medicinal and off-sourness. Not a good beer. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Jul 27, 2008 Clear gold with big white head. Smells husky, corny, and clean. Flavor of grain and a bit cloying. Medium body. Butter only in the finish this time. This is often a butterbomb of diacetyl. jrob21 (1250), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 30, 2008 Alliteration aside I think this beer is decent for the style. Nice cereal malt flavors and slight citrus make this a way more entertaining beer than some of these other posts are making it out to be. Decent floral nose and decent body with a finish of a fruity light sweetness. MartinT (5026), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 14, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Honeyed cereals benefit from a noble hop middle in this slick and quiet Premium Lager ot the utmost simplicity.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam sinks into the clear golden.
-There are barely any hops in the finish.
-The body is lean and clean, and appropriately carbonated.
-Malts provide few flavors yet sustain nicely throughout the pint.
-This is inherently drinkable, so I guess they are reaching their goals, but I cannot say it is memorable nor tasty.
On tap at The Green Leafe Café in Williamsburg, VA. raiderfost (158), virginia beach, Virginia, USA Nov 18, 2007 Pours a light corny yellow with a large white head. Some how the miracale workers at Legend have found a way to bottle a Natural Lite in there bottle! Im pretty sure the forgot to even include hops in this batch. I am embarassed to be from Virginia.
