| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 13, 2006 Bottle. Pours light, hazy yellow with loose, white head. Aroma of sour lemongrass, salty celery, and yeast. Light grass flavors with puckery lemon, apple tartness. Odd, faint saltiness continues from the nose to the mouth. Lingering lemon-juice sourness on the back of the tongue. Inoffensive but weak – lacking a malt backbone. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA

They have an excellent reputation for all their products. The lager is no exception. The head is frothy and white, The aroma is of malt and hops. This lager has more character and taste than from the big breweries. It has a medium body with straw color. I ordered another at a local restaurant on 6/9/09 It was ordinary. Great clarity, but not much to taste. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2006 Largish draught sample at the brewpub. Light clear gold pour with a touch of head and lots of continuous bubbling....soft grassy-leafy nose with just a hint of butterscotch, really a pleasant sweet tang rather than full-blown diacetyl grossness, also a hint of German yeast and rough farmhouse bread-dough.....really clean, smooth body with hints of a rustic, weedy meadow softened by rain....earthy/grassy, thirst-quenching with a beautiful carbonation level, soft but somehow a little gritty and lively as well....light yeast, unfiltered and unpasteurized, rustic and charming and absolutely full of flavor.....truly excellent lager, sadly underapreciated, and among the best of the fine beers I tried at this excellent brewpub. michael-pollack (2696), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2006 Draught at Brewery: Smells malty and crisp. Aroma of hay and nuts. Golden in color. Clear and sparkling. Small creamy white head. Mostly diminished. Medium lacing. Tasted wheaty. A little banana flavor. Slightly dry. Starts a little sweet with a more bitter finish. Light bodied. Decent version of an American style lager. Better than a Bud. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA
