Aroma of semi-sweet Vienna and Munich malts, lightly toasted with earthy bittering noble hops and German lager yeast. Starts with a nice, lightly sweet German maltiness with some good noble hoppy balance. Fairly true to style, but could use a touch more sweetness. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

Nose is malty and semi-sweet with big fruit notes, light caramel, yeast and a hint of alcohol. Taste is spicy and malty. Big spices intermingling with creamy malts, ripe fruit, light caramel, and hops. Little more spicy and hopy than expected, but this turns out better than the Doppelbock. Body is full and with a moderate carbonation feel. Dry is spots with lingering light spicy hop bitterness. Finishes with more spicy hops, light yeast, dried fruit, light nuttiness, caramel and creamy malts. Nice beer! maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Good head retention and lacing. Nutty aroma with very lightly toasted malts/ Some stone fruits and caramel as well. Fairly dry. Taste is caramel, apple, apricot and a grainy finish. Leafy hops as well with a very, very faint hint of chocolate. Medium bodied. Good beer. Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 11, 2005 The doppelbock release, followed quickly by a maibock to my surprise. Too bad I don’t like the style. In any case, a pretty beer as almost all Legend beers are, nice creamy tan head sitting on a clear copper orange body. Bready nose with some fruit as well. Flavor had more bread (big time), some apricot, and some spiciness that just sort of struck me as odd. Not bad, but not my thing. Not overly sweet at least.
