Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jul 4, 2009 A definite favorite from the Virginia Beer Festival, glad I got to try it after having missed it when it originally came around while I had a head cold. Medium amber. Aroma was grapefruit and pine hops with a touch of oak. Flavor matched with a bit of caramel that nicely accented both the oak and hops. Everything integrated really well, good example of how to use oak and not destroy the other components of the beer. Nice. dkachur (2317), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 3, 2009 Sampled at the 2nd annual Virginia Beer Festival at Capital Ale House Midlothian. Pours a clear bronze color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. The aroma features lots of vanilla and other oaky notes over faint leafy hops. Taste is citrus hops with nice resiny bitterness, peach and vanilla. Medium bodied. Nice beer. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 9, 2009 On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 06/04/2009.
