clear amber, whispy white head, light sweet carmel malt aroma with floral hops, a swirl will kick up some fine head and citrus aroma, touch of drippy lace, good hop flavor on a well balanced carmel malt base with just a touch of sweetness, the sweetness grows into a butterscotch character, nice bitter finish

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Mar 9, 2006 Bottle-conditioned, orange hued covered by a fully diminishing off-white head. Peppery, fruity nose full of tropical fruits, highly yeasty with full on sourdough nuances. It speaks of problems, but ceteris paribus, I find it quite appealing. In mouth, it grows quite catastrophic. I’ll be happy to give a go at a fresher sample, but since the whole range of legend we’ve tried showed drastic poor aging issues, I guess it has to be said they ought to be drunk as soon as possible. Possible yeast autolysis in this particular example where a sulphuric character chimes in with the gummy, citric fruits to lead us into a long lasting tart and phenolic/medicinal finish. Light-medium bodied, highly effervescent, airy textured. jcwattsrugger (5528), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
