Strange, rahter unpleasant aroma, but the taste was awesome - very smooth, grainy with exceptionally rich finish - notes of grain, nuts and slight hints of coffee. Very enjoable.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with an orangey head. The aroma has strong notes of fruits - especially peaches. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw, leading to a bitter finish. Bierkrug (295), Idar-Oberstein (temp in DC), Germany

Bottle brown, 500 ml, 11.3 P
Appearance: Pours orangy amber, slightly hazy, not see through, gently and naturally saturated body, head is initially very big, dense, off - white, slightly beige in colour, very frothy and thick in texture, becoming rocky, very slowly decreasing to mederate with a thick lacing being left on the sides of the glass, very nice look general.
Aroma: Nice and inviting, highly aromatic citrusy notes of hops at front, some clementine, orange peal, orange juice, lime, grapefruit, really nice spices with a domination of green and white pepper, mineral, very natural and almost bready base, well pronounced barley grains being really natural here, well hidden alcohol, generally very rich in aroma and very refreshing. Typical of a Keller beer.
Flavour: Very nice and rich in flavour at front, very well pronounced spicy - hoppy profile. Expressed notes of green and white pepper, spearmint, perfumy notes of hops typical of a Keller beer, some alcohol at the background going together with yeastyness and gentle sourness, finish duration is short.
Palate: The weakest point of this beer in particular but also generally of Leikeim beers is its flat aftertaste and rather poor, not expressive and non - sophisticated palate impressions. That is why finish feel is flat, dull like a stale water, thin and shallow, without deepnes or salty saturation giving satisfaction. No hoppy nose, no yeast, no malt on palate. ante (2942), Stockholm, Sweden
