| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours a amber brown with a large tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of caramel, some roasted malt, a little smoke, nuts, and chocolate. Similar aroma. Nice caramel aftertaste. Light body, but is rather satisfying and has a good mouthfeel. Reminds me of their Fireside. Not a bad brew considering the cheap price. BrianDorry55 (117), Spring Hill, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 28, 2009 12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors in Lutz, FL. Pours opaque brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet malty caramel with a hint of "light beer smell". Weird light, burnt flavor. I guess its not bad...but its not good at all...so yeah I guess its bad. Nasty burnt aftertaste, light mouthfeel. Its ok...i wouldnt drink it again, ever. bubbleflubber (893), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Pours a deep chestnut into the glass, with a nice frothy head that leaves soapy lace down the glass. Sweet, roasted earthen malt notes to the nose. The flavors are much more subdued, lighter and indistinct. Sweet malts, a touch of sours, some roasted notes.... nothing to write home about. The finish contains most of the roasts and introduces some muddy earthen hops. This, along with a watery mouthfeel, makes for an underwhelming brew. dwaggs2 (549), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Bottle. Poured an amber color with a decent white head. Aroma was sweet malts and roasted flavors. Flavor was weaker. Malts were in the flavor. Smooth aftertaste. Decent. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Brown pour with an off white head. Odd malt aroma with some molasses and burnt coffee. Thin bodied. Under roasted malt flavors of caramel and toffee. I expected something better from Leinenkugels after the Big Eddie series but this is not good at all. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-brown color with a medium sized tan head that faded fairly quickly. The aroma was sour and tangy with notes of coffee, chocolate and wood. The flavor was dryish, tangy and lightly fruity with hints of wood, roasty malts, caramel and smoke. The finish was long, dry, fruity and woody. Nice. BREWMUSKCLES (1074), New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2009 This is a pretty nice bock indeed. a hybrid of sorts since it has a strong sense of hop for a bock. fruity sweet not thick and with a billowing light brown head that is just right. nice malt type fruit of grape and almost winey this doesnt have the crassness of a cheap vinyard concoction it is smooth finishes mellow and has a hoppy touch and mouthfeel, and i might add good aroma of farmfresh malt in sweet white wine i was surprised and... this brew is demonstrative! sebletitje (1920), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 24, 2009 pours dark copper with thin beige head.
Aroma has good notes of malts and caramel, remains very one dimensional.
Taste, plenty of toasted malts with caramel aplenty with light hoppy plaate toward the finish. Crisp and drinkable. Much better than the rest of commercial Leinenkugels beers.
