Aroma has good notes of malts and caramel, remains very one dimensional.
Taste, plenty of toasted malts with caramel aplenty with light hoppy plaate toward the finish. Crisp and drinkable. Much better than the rest of commercial Leinenkugels beers.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Bottle. Poured red brown with thick lasting white head. Faint aroma of malt, grass and something else. Fairly thin flavour, a little malt and a little caramel. Not much finish, a bit of caramel. Not a loser, but.... jarndyce (38), Idaho, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2009 The best Leinenkugel I’ve had. Malt odor hits the nostril immediately. First taste is chocolate, sweet raisin. A weak hops note hits secondary. Highly drinkable. Sessionable. I will buy and consume this again. Pleasant surprise. iamqueensblvd (227), , Iowa, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 22, 2009 On tap. Pours a thin medium brown color with an average off white head. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, grain, yeast and nuts. Taste is earthy with flavors of the caramel malt and grain dominate. Has a light dry finish. benpickens (144), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 20, 2009 I think this doppelbock is impeded by the lack of alcohol typically present with doppelbock’s such as Spaten and Paulaner. It tastes like "thin" versions of those. Otherwise a quaffable beer. maltdog (518), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Mar 16, 2009 Pours mahogany with a rush of fizzy bubbles; the soda-like "head" collaspes to reveal only the gas-dmpled beer surface and zero lace. Smells of toast, sulphur, pecan turtle candies, and crayons. Also a vague, grassy hop scent. About four parts buttweiser to one part Coke sums up the flavor. Grainy. A slightly bitter backbite seems more roasted malt than hop-derived. Baking soda aftertaste, maybe a little smoky. Limp, watery palate. Overall impression is that they didn’t even try- it’s like they let a six-year-old with ADD run the brewery that day and bottled the result. TheCaptain (559), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

Bread and malt with a tinge of citrus hops. The beer lacked a distinctive flavor and body. Slight stale finish... not liking this one.
