Flavor is really kind of all over the place. Immediately malty and tasty, with a hint of those hops giving it a touch of citrus flavor....but shortly after that, the flavor dissipates and then you’re left with sort of a dry copper taste. Good flavor on the tip of the tongue, the back of the throat and just about nowhere in between. The mouthfeel is a little light for a bock, but not too watery. Overall this is pretty decent, but I probably wouldn’t buy another sixer of it. jebert (113), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is malt and vanilla. Mouthfeel is full bodied and creamy. Taste is of roasted barley, vanilla and a hint of nuts. Finish is neither sweet nor bitter, just satisfying. Pairs well with cheese and crackers, snacks, or with burgers, brats or hot dogs. Thanks, Leines, for bring back this tasty brew! bu11zeye (5505), Frisco, Texas, USA

Rancid aroma of grain, manure, caramel, and nuts. Flavor of peanut brickel, mild hops (grass, light citrus), caramel malt, and toasted grain. jb (1043), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 1, 2009 The look is decent, clear, reddish, nice hide with decent retention. Aroma is grassy, some bread elements, none of the usual complex aromas of a bock. Palate is malty, clean, a bit of sour from the yeast. Really this isn’t bad. Thanks for trade Ron. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 1, 2009 A little below average dunkler bock. Aroma was very weak. Could detect a bready and malty presence but just lightly. Pour was nice. The darkest amber you’ll ever see with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was pretty weak. The great strong carbonation overpowers the light roasted malt and caramel. There is a light toastiness and chocolate to it, but you have to search. The carbonation makes this beer enjoyable, but the flavor is subpar. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
